I'll third that suggestion... great read... better writing than a lot of non-graphic novels.
Someone mentioned Marvels (I actually own the individual comics) and along the same grain is Kingdom Come which has also been mentioned.

I enjoyed Cerebus and Bone when I was still reading comics... there should be lots of graphic novels compiling those series now.

Respect to another bone reader.

since we're moving toward the independants, you might consider looking for authors instead of titles.

I'll read (and most often enjoy) anything by the following:
Paul Pope
Frank Miller
Alan Moore (BTW pick up Watchmen)
Mike Allred (BTW pick up Madman)
Mike Mignola (Hellboy)
Matt Wagner (Mage)
Adrian tomine (optic Nerve)
Charles Burns (Black Hole)

That's prolly enough. Many of these are indies, so you might have to pick up a Diamond catalog and ask your local dealer to spec. order. If they won't do it let me know and I'll call them up and yell at them for you. 😉

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm waiting for the Hedge Knight too, as I really enjoyed George's books, but I think I'll wait for the collected edition.

I also discovered Overstock.com is the cheapest by far- posted a message in the Hot Deals forum about it.
