GPU-Z Download

Hope W1zzard can now move onto a more recent vista supported +1GB 2900 supported ATI Tool. GPU-z seems good so far- props

Seems to be a work in progress, judging by the default MFC icon. But good start nonetheless.

There were a few erroneous readings in mine, see if you can spot them...

Any particular reason you're running your E6600 at 1.384V...?

You should be fine at around 1.3V, Amber...

I think the software voltage sensor may be a bit innaccurate. When it's under full load, like running Orthos, the CPUZ reading regularly fluctuates around 1.4V+. The BIOS readings are completely normal.

But you're looking at the wrong part of the picture 😛. Focus!

LOL. Sorry, I just hate those C2D's failing prematurely for seemingly no reason at all.

OK, let me focus...

CPU-Z has all kinds of problems reading voltages properly.

Hey have u ever heard/seen a c2d fail prematurely? by prematurely about how long did u mean? u have me a little bit worried now since mine is running @ 1.5125v

hmm, I also have a PNY 8800GTS, and I get the exact same readings are you. seems like It's not detecting many of the settings at all...

oh well, hope they fine tune it and get the rest of the program to work.

See, the maximum rating is 1.35V. If you feel that it is necessary to run yours 24/7 at 3.6Ghz and 1.5125V, it is definitely up to you.

It is rather difficult to say how long is too long, especially that these CPU's are only slightly older then 1 year, but I would not feel comfortable with 1.5V.

No, I have not heard about any specific cases of failure, but there is a lot of people having inexplicable stability problems after successfully running their overclocked CPU's for months.

But again - I am perfectly happy with rather modest 2.925GHz at 1.3V, and am lucky enough not to experience any signs of instability (at least so far!)

Doesn't work at all in Vista x64 + my BFG 8800 GTX.
Crashes application upon attempting to load it.

Apparently it doesn't like BFG cards i'm gathering.

Results gathered from this thread so far:
BFG - crashes under both XP 32 and Vista 64
PNY - unable to detect many of the specs under both XP 32 and Vista 32
eVGA - ok

It's interesting that the issues seems to be brand-dependent, not card model-dependent...

but it's all anecdotal at this point. It would help if people posted pictures of the program running, like you did. Rhoxed what does "works fine with the eVGA 7800GT " look like? You getting all the readings?

Why you had many fail on you? The safe voltage for C2D seems to be 1.35V per intel spec IIRC. Rule of thumb generally means up to 10% is still safe thereafter => 1.485V.

a few !!
according to this your 8800gts would beat by a ati 9200, consider you have a 0bit bus, 0 ROPs, 0 texture/pixel filrate.
wonder what the 482 mm2 is for ?
