In theory, any PCI-E graphics card should work. There should be alot used graphics cards available for cheap.

WHY do you want a GPU? That PC is far, far, too old, to support any sort of gaming. Even in 2006, that would have been a borderline anemic rig.

(I had E2140 CPUs, in my 775 rigs to start out, but I started with 4GB of RAM, and soon upgraded to 8GB once Windows 7 64-bit came out, and I had my E2140 CPUs overclocked to 3.2Ghz.)

If you really need a GPU, get a 9600GSO or 9600GT or 8800GT or 9800GT/GTX. Hope that you have a beefy PSU. And get at least 4GB of RAM.

(Are you still running Windows XP 32-bit?)

Try gt1030, see if it fits on that board, should be good enough for entry level.

Adding another 2gb stick is a good start. You may also look for used Core2Duo chip to give moderate boost. Nvidia's 8000 or 9000 series gpu is the best bet because it already had Tesla arch. so it will help in many scenario.

Your CPU is too slow, so first upgrade that to something reasonable, depending on compatibility with your motherboard. Max out on RAM, then try to get a GT 730 2GB GDDR5 at minimum.
