Gov. Walker and WI's master plan

We were able to ram through reform of Healthcare with its 2,000 page bill before anyone had even READ it and we are suggesting that there hasn't been enough time to debate THIS bill which is pretty clear in what it will do? What a joke.

As this drags on it justifies the impression of a lot of people as Democrats being a bunch of cowardly liars who will sell their soul to protect big unions and stick it to the taxpayers.

Just curious, if Democrats aren't disingenuous cowardly liars, why are they not protesting in Arizona, Utah, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and West Virginia? You do realize those states have outright bans on collective bargaining for their public employees right? Which is not even close to what Walker is proposing.

If Democrats aren't disingenuous cowardly liars, why are they not protesting in DC on behalf of almost all Federal workers who don't have the same collective bargaining rights as these state workers?

If Democrats aren't disingenuous cowardly liars, why are they not protesting the local city government workers in Wisconsin who don't have the same collectively bargaining rights as the State workers?

This issue is about one thing. Keeping the FORCED extortion of union fees from public employees and FORCED union membership high so they can keep funneling this money against many of their members wills to Obama and other Democrat candidates.

I bet if Scott Walker compromised on that issue, and that issue alone, the union would back down. Keep the money train flowing to union leaders and Democrats and the union leaders will screw the Wisconsin worker in a heartbeat.

There's a big difference between fighting For something New and fighting to preserve something.

Preserving the existing union base in Wisconsin that is FORCED to join a union and is FORCED to have those dues removed from their checks automatically.

Fact is those cases PROVE what Wisconsin is trying to do with collective bargaining will have little to no effect on these public workers. Are workers in those states being treated like slaves? If they ARE, then Democrats and the Unions have sold them out. If they AREN'T, then Democrats and the unions give them no value.

Surely what is good enough for our FEDERAL employees is good enough for our STATE employees? Unless you are suggesting Obama and the Dems are anti-workers rights?

Was this bill not debated for 1.5 years and online for 8 months or is that some other bill I am thinking of?

Must have been something else. You don't remember the stories of Pelosi saying we must pass the bill to find out what's in it? Maybe that should be Walker's line. We need to pass this bill to find out what's in it.. LOL.

Heard that Dems in WI may just get two Repubs to join them and then Walkers bill is history.

Thank god! Then at least the unions will still have their collective bargaining rights as thousands of them are being laid off. 🙄

There are already recall efforts against certain Democrats for leaving, I can't imagine what would happen to a Republican who wavered on this.

"but we have to get this building cleaned up" lol, I have no doubt the place is a mess.

I heard on the radio that the place is actually being kept relatively clean by the protestors compared to how bad it could be. That being said, the guy being interviewed said that the place definitely needs a good cleaning. You can't stick that many people inside a building 24/7 without it getting dirty.

At this point, I'm wondering how many of these protesters are actually Wisconsinites. This is the 14th day.

The teachers have gone back to school. Obviously, those protesters remaining don't have day jobs, and I can't imagine that many would be willing to use up their vacation time.

If there are any 2nd/3rd shifters, they can't be all that awake during their shifts. They can't all be students.

I'm guessing paid professional protesters.

Yeah, bussed in union thu...I mean union members from other states. I know a union in cedar rapids sent some people up.

Capitol on lockdown as no further protesters are allowed in

From the last paragraph of that article, this little gem.
Meanwhile, the man who is organizing a recall effort against the governor filed a hand-written request for an injunction in U.S. District Court in Madison Monday seeking to reopen the Capitol. In it, Jeremy Ryan of Defending Wisconsin PAC is seeking $10 million to be paid to the protesters for the alleged violation of their civil rights.

fvcktard or a-hole? You make the call.

OTOH, maybe I can get some of my tax money back if I join the protesters or anti-protesters. 😀

There's also a recall effort on the republicans as well. 🙂

anyone else hope this type of thing results in real change beyond WI?

I'm talking getting us one step closer to taking the money out of politics?

We can start with the Republicans if that will help. But lets get rid of all these greedy bastards and get some people in there who really want to serve and represent the people.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

I'll take Fat Chance for a $1000 Alex. 😀

On these WI protests. Just imagine if the weather were decent. Like in Egypt, they didn't have snow and cold weather to deal with. 100,000 protesters in WI now would equal 500,000 in the spring. One million in the summer. Or more?
Lets pray for a heat wave in WI, soon.

You realize that's part of being in a union right? The one and only time I went to a line when called for, at a place I had never worked at or for, we got paid for it and got lunch. Wasn't to bad. Nothing wrong with it imo. Brothers and sisters helping each other out when in need. Community, such and such.

Start with the Republicans who were elected in a landslide in Wisconsin just 60 days ago to be fiscally responsible? Yeah.. that makes a ton of sense! How about starting with the Democrats who fled the state because big union $$$ told them so?

Honestly. People think Wisconsin didn't vote for this or were duped? Not only did they elect a Republican governor for the first time in 8 years, they also took solid Democrat majorities in the state house and senate and turned them into LARGE Republican majorities just 60 days ago.

FACT is, Wisconsin residents want this. They may quible with minor issues like the collective bargaining issue, but for the most part they want the budget brought under control as well as benefits for public employees. If they DIDN'T, they wouldn't have voted (Did I mention, just 60 days ago) for tons of Republicans changing control of the GOVERNORSHIP, SENATE, and HOUSE to Republicans.

Story Updated: Feb 28, 2011

Last week, we heard thatState Rep. Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) had been busted in a prostitution sting.
State Rep. Gordon Hintz was issued a municipal citation in Appleton earlier this month for violating a city sexual misconduct ordinance.
Appleton police said the citation was issued Feb. 10 in conjunction with an ongoing investigation of Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor, 342 W. Wisconsin Ave., in Appleton. Police searched the business and a nearby residence in the 1300 block of North Division Street Jan. 28, after investigators had staked out the properties for several days after receiving a tip.
**
Last Friday.... after the Assembly voted to engross the Budget Repair Bill, Hintz turned to a female colleague, Rep. Michelle Litjens and said: "You are F***king dead!"

New tone, indeed. Will he be held accountable?

You can say that about this representative, but to extrapolate beyond that is bullshit.
