Yes, it is all an ancient style thing, probably dating to the year that suits and ties where considered professional looking. However, that is the way it is.
If I where a business owner, I could care less if someone wore a hat, but you can bet that I would chew out a sales rep. or consultant that wore a hat while meeting a client in a professional environment. It just screams "Dude, I just got out of college and love this sick hat yo!"

Lots of my meetings take place in sh!t plants. I am not wearing nice clthes to that and I am not lettign my hair soak up that smell.

They just do imo. Same with jerseys. I love the mets but I'm not about to wear them in public. If you're a 15 year old kid then go for it, not so much for a 40 year old.
