Theres to much evidence for the 17 year old to get off.

Eye witnesses in the Alabama shooting, his finger prints in the alabama crime scene and his finger prints on the two letters. Im betting the 17 year old was the shooter, as he was the shooter in Alabama.

Theres no way these guys are not guilty, theres way to much physical evidence. Its going to be a harder case for the father, and an easier one for the step son. Both will likely get the death penalty, as minors can still be executed as per the Supreme Court.

Alabama has the death penalty correct? Are the one of the handful of states that execute minors?

nah, send him to prison. It'd be much worse for him than instant death. Think about it: he'd die, but only after being butt raped until he has to wear Depends b/c his sphincter cant close all the way anymore.

That is also my opinion of what should happen to bin Laden...

I guess since I have so little faith in our current government, I feel a twinge of conspiracy.. That the arrest was a bit too convenient.. BUT, if indeed they aren't the shooters, the shottings will continue, no? I would like to see pics of the trunk area in that Caprice...

I agree that placing them in maximum security for the rest of their miserable lives, and making sure gen pop knows who they are (shot a child, etc)... Jailhouse justice.. Like what that sick fsck dahmer got (I refuse to cap his name).. A plunger up the ass...

I'll likely be flamed for the following post and for my crazy, leftist, liberal beliefs, but I think someone has to say it:

1. Death penalty is the easy way out. Why not let them suffer for the rest of their lives over the lives they destroyed? I'm sure everyone has thought of this, but isn't it a bit hypocritical to kill due to killing?
In my opinion I want to punish the criminals as harshly as possible. I'd love to go beyond the constitiution and give unusual punishment, but that won't happen. So lets focus on what options we legally might have (depending on which state's jail they end up in):
A) life in prision,
B) death penalty.
I don't have statistics on this, but from watching other murder trials, about 95% of murderers want (A), they fight hard for (A) they do appeal after appeal begging and pleading for (A). I say do the exact opposite of what the murders want. If the sniper truely wants (A) give him (B) that is the most punishment possible. If for some odd reason the sniper truely wants (B) make him suffer for life in prison. That is why we need a fair trial, to make sure we know what the killer wants and then we can do the opposite.

I don't see the logic of rewarding them by giving them what they want most. Life in prison is what about 95% intensily want. Why should I give them what they want? Giving them what they want is the easy way out.

let them suffer for the rest of their lives
If the sniper is what the media made him out to be: someone enjoying the game of shooting humans, then the sniper will likely sit in jail for years happy about his 2 weeks of glory, fanticising of more killing and more fun. To me that isn't much suffering. It is possible that the sniper regrets what he did, but if you truely regret something then you don't do it 13 times. In reality, he probably will only regret being caught. I think it is a mistake to think he will ever suffer thinking about the murders - he will have fond memories of them.

I think they should let them both out into an open field, which our own snipers will be watching from towers. Let them run around for a bit, hell, maybe even let them live out in this open field with no shelter for a week, living in constant fear that THEY might me sniped. Or something equally cruel. In some cases I think punishment should be no holds barred.

Now all we can do is hope the authorities do their jobs right and don't mess up the chain of custody in the evidence or anything foolish like that.

I hope they do. Release these guys to the gereral public. Just give an acurate discription of the time and place. Things will work out in the end.
I thought the same thing about OJ getting off. WTF, he's still out there golfing somewhere. Justice?

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall seeing a program about matching a bullet to a gun. They basically take the gun, load a bullet, and fire the gun. Apparently each and every gun makes a unique indentation on the bullet, allowing them to make a match. So, I would think this doesn't take very long.
