Black wheels suck, especially on a black car. Unless of course, you're going for that whole stealth look. Otherwise it just looks like you're rolling on steelies. As for the exhaust, well I'm not going to say anything because I havn't heard it yet 😀

Go ahead, click the links in my sig and flame me 😛

I love the GTI

I stopped liking VWs after they went with the MK2 Golf. MK1 GTI's on the other hand rocked. Even TopGear raced a MK1 and a MK2. Guess who won. heh

Maybe you could tell us what you've actually done (along with some performance numbers to show the results)?

I know when I was overclocking Celerons (566 @ 952 the week the first flip-chip Celerons came out 😀) I had plenty of performance to show for my efforts.

If you can't show any results then...

Viper GTS

I love the MK1 and MK2 VWs, but they're just too old for someone like me. However, if I had the time and resources to work on MK1s or MK2s, I'd definitely do it. Perhaps a R32 engine swap

My friend just picked up a 2000 gti after his corolla got totalled, rides really smooth.

The MK1 is sooooo easy though. I had a pair of 84 GTIs. One had been swapped with an auto trans for some bizarre reason, but the price was right ($200) and the engine was tight.

The ONLY reason I had to give them up was the window crank placement. No matter what I did, my left knee rested on it. I ended up tearing the tendons just from driving that car. 🙁

Well at first glance I thought you had 4 spare tires on. Black on Black in a dark shot just looks funny.

Also I agree with "#2: rims are typically only nice looking if they are 19 or bigger" but it depends on the car. With small cars like Civics and Sentras I'd say 17"s look nice.

You all should stay away from cars.

This coming from a guy who drives a Civic with a fart can.......

College student, can't afford a G35 or a 3 series. Unless you have heard my exhaust then don't make any assumptions.

They all sound bad......some of them even worse. Especially the ones with the awsome "BuZZZZZZzZZzzZzzZZzZZZZZzZzZzZzZzZZZ" under heavy acceleration.

I have not heard your exhaust, no. But I assume your car has 4 cylinders? Then I pretty much know what it sounds like.

wow.

Don't be mad, he's right. No matter what you do to that Civic, it will sound like sh!t.

Answer this question, have you guys worked on a civic before?

Work on, as in mod or repair?

Repair, yes. Mod? I wouldn't waste my time.

Repair as in change the oil? 😛

The things you learn working on what you have.....
I bet you should've toldl all those celeron guys from the past to not waste their time trying to get higher clock speeds?

😕

Overclocking is free. Car mods aren't.

And no, not just change oil.

fabricating water cooling system, upgrading case for better air flow and more fans, better hsf.....better ram, better mobo with fully loaded bios, all of those are free? When have you heard of this being said, "If you AREN'T planning to O/C get xxx" which is usually a lot cheaper. It's not free, just a different ball field in terms of costs.

You're an idiot. Who would spend on that money on a Celeron. It's like spending all that money on a Civic...

OOPS!

So your telling me the people who pushed celerons never ever spent extra money to push their system to the max? BS

I never said they didn't. I just said they were dumb, kinda like you.

Man, this thread is depressing! I wish I could get some new wheels...marketing/pr just doesn't pay well enough to let me drive around in luxury. I do the best I can though. I don't really need a car here in Metro DC too much. Yet somehow...I think about cars an awful lot. Maybe thats a sign of a career change in the making?!

AMDUALY-- Don't laugh at the changing the oil thing. My Mom (when she was in her 20s) had NO idea that you even had to change the oil in a car- never mind checking the tire pressure/fluid levels as part of general maintenance! She figured it out really quick when her car stopped working after a few thousand miles. Makes me laugh just thinking about it though. Some people.....well you know. You can't fix stupid!

I've never took my civic to the track or have had it dynoed as it is my daily driver. Right now I have bolted on, Basic short ram intake with K&N filter, skunnk2 intake manifold, DC 4-2-1 two piece headers, and skunk2 mega power catback exhaust. Trust me, it does NOT sound like a bee can.

Were planning to bore out my d16 and using ls piston rods... Speculating 2.0 liter 🙂

Yes, and thanks for resorting to name calling, I think I proved my point.

That happened to a friend of mine too who had bought a car brand new from the dealers and never thought about changing the oil. Soon enough after 20,000 miles, her car said no more.

Indeed.

And if you're going that deep, stroke the crank too.

Um, if you want. All i have are those headers and intake.

Sorry man, those look pretty bad.

They DO look like steelies, and yes, steelies can come in larger sizes than 15". They are TOO black on your black car. There's no "pop" to them whatsoever.

I know they come in more sizes (diff cars). But mine are 14" stock.

alright

Slips

Steelies
