Got my PS3 order in today at EB

possibly, but it doesnt make sense. Say the store opens at 10am on launch day, and preorders 14,15,16 are there bright and early but preoders 1,2,3 dont get there till 6pm that day. Do they literally say we must wait for each preorder person to come in, and in the order they preorderd before we can issue you guys(14,15,16) a ps3.

So there was approximately 65-70 idiots (unless some were just keeping others company). From what I've heard, most stores are only getting 5-10. Some are reporting up to 16 though.

I don't get what the big rush is. If you wait a few months, the price will be more reasonable and availability will be high. Makes me glad I'm only an impulse buyer in-store

what is this, preorder or the actual unit ? some local store took orders last year.. there were like 50 on the list already..

thats why i saw people on line today.. i wasn't sure what it was for..

No, that's why they limited it. They will get 16 units in that are assigned. #16 can pick his up any time. They didn't sell more than they expect, which is not how it happened before.

If they only get 12 in, folks 13-16 are screwed unless someone doesn't pick it up launch day. At that point, they will sell it to #13 starting the next day. At least, this is how the store here is handling it. Manager talked to us for awhile making sure everyone understood. Everything went very smoothly here.

The pre orders were only for 16 units total minus 2 for the employees making it 14.

I think the employees at my store reserved 4 for themselves making the units available 12 for us.

I showed up at 8am, there were 5 people infront waiting since 4:30am. I'm in for one The managers said there was only 8 for that store. i asked the manager, this means do i have to get here super early and wait in line to get a system and he said no, you just show up with your receipt and id and pick it up. Lets see how this goes

Yea, I'm #6 here at the Gamestop. I hope I don't have to camp out that day... that would suck. I guess we'll see how it goes in a month.

EDIT: Oh, and for the record, I am eBaying that thing the minute I get my greedy little paws on it. No way would I pay that kind of money for a friggin console...

at the bottom of my receipt, it states: New Release Products will be held for 48 hours after release.

according to the manager at the store I was at (which took 16 pre-orders), the higher up on the pre-order list you were, the better probability that you will score on on release day. If this store were to only receive 10 units, the last 6 would be SOL.

I was 2nd in line so I like my chances.

A guy at worked pre-order a 360 a couple of months before it came out. Never got it they returned his money.
