Damn what an improvement over the Philips 30" HDTV I had prior. The blacks are pretty decent (better than expected), and the picture is terrific (colors are a lot better than the Philips set). I was actually quite impressed with how big this TV was- It looks a lot bigger than 37". At $765 this set was a steal and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good LCD HDTV for the money.

237v or 537h?

Where did you buy it from and how much?

Have you used the QAM tuner?

which model is it?

537H. I was originally, but once I did some tweaks in the menu, it was night and day. For some reason, it comes calibrated at 65k colors. Once you switch it over to native, the picture is a hell of a lot better (it made me go from disappointed to very happy). Funny how one tweak can make such a big difference.

I purchased it from Newegg. The one thing I didn't like is how Syntax packages these TVs. They're not protected well inside the box (just a couple styrofoam crates at the top and bottom with nothing to shield it at the sides. I haven't tested out the QAM tuner yet because I have a comcast hd-dvr box.

BTW, thanks Rossman for pointing this tv out to in a prior thread a couple of weeks ago. I am quite happy with the purchase.

isn't 6500k supposed to be the best color temperature for viewing, well.... anything?
that's the reason they started making the sets come standard with 6500k as the setting, part of the 'director's image' or something like that, something Syntax is doing for the brand.

I have the 332 and I love it. Awesome TV for the money. Way better than the Westinghouse crap.

I don't know. Some reason it looked horrible (I thought I was watching standard def. tv for a while, when I was actually on an HD channel). There was a yellow tint to everything. The switch to native was leaps and bounds better. Plus, when you think about it, native is tailored to the broadcast, so it would make sense that it looks good.

Blow me. The manual never said to change it to native, and it came set at 65k colors. So kiss my ass.
