My wife is starting to pump with our youngest. Shit is so gross, she doesn't understand.

"IT'S JUST MILK!" she exclaims. That is so fuckin nasty. For some reason I'll drink from a cows titties but coming from her its like...I don't know. Gross. You don't see me freezing my semen. :hmm:

Anyways, I don't know how many kids you have but this shit gets old real fast. Ended up buying a mini fridge for a little over 100$ and that's where she needs to keep her nasty-milk. Wait till you find that shit leaking all over your ribeye you're aging.

So weird, we only keep a couple bags in reserve in the freezer, and then the fresh supply (which nowadays is only 1 bag while she is at work) in the fridge door.

Yeah, not a fan of the warm half & half squirters. I think of this as the lost decade. 😛

Just curious: is your wife making sure she is consuming all the nutrients she needs to be giving the baby?

It's probably stressed with correct guidance by doctors these days, but it definitely is possible to not have the same quality as conventional formulas.

I mean, enough EPA and DHA not just for her, but for two. That's really the big one that was never stressed for far too long, and starved brains didn't develop right and bam, the ADD generation was born (with the worse timing possible, coinciding with the leaded atmosphere and soil also ruining fetal and infant brains).

Also... holy shit.

What do y'all do when out for awhile with the baby? Take bags and place them in someone's fridge? What about if you go to places without a fridge? Ever think you might need to rely on having a powder ready on rare occasions?

Why the heck is it so yellow? Please tell me that all didn't come out of just one woman.
It's got a lot of fat content, makes it look yellowish.

Also makes it excellent for making butter.
Why is it gross?

You're all a bunch of pansies. Babies got to eat.
I think it's more the volume rather than the item really.

That is a shit ton of breast milk.

We need to check out the fun bags responsible to make sure she isn't overworking them. Post pics. Its medically necessary.

i think she is. i mean she's eating healthy and taking those prenatal vitamins. we're also giving him vitamin D every day because babies feeding on breast milk only need it from another source.

when we go out for a while we usually bring like 2 or 3 bottles. we haven't thawed anything yet. we usually have 2-3 bags in the fridge + bottles full in the fridge, just in case.

not sure exactly how much it is volume wise, but each bag has a 6oz label on it, but they definitely hold more than that in the bags, but she's not filling them to the brim since they expand when freezing and there are already some that have exploded in there.

Pics+Vids are medically necessary to ensure you guys are doing this properly. ATOT Hand Expression services are a good value-add as well.

Congratulations man. So many doctors, nurses, and people just don't emphasize how important breast milk is. Done correctly, you'll have a healthier baby who gets sick far far less that formula raised children.

I can't stress it enough - VERY well done. Keep it up.

You'll be shocked if you read up on how long it is recommended to breast feed. We've done our children a huge disservice ignoring how important it is. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends using breast milk exclusively for the first 6 months, and studies find it beneficial through 3 years.

Whats the big deal? How can it be gross to drink from a cow's udder but not from your wife's breasts?

For the record, I have insisted to my fiance that if we have kids, I absolutely must try some. Imagine how convenient it would be if you run out of half and half, just whip out the boob and squirt some whole milk in my coffee. I hear the milk is sweet and it doesn't put me off one bit to try some in the future.

Actually, there are a lot of hospitals that have programs for donated breastmilk. It can be especially useful for preemies or multiples, babies with any sort of issue really.

OP, do you guys have an exit strategy for this? If she thinks one day she can just turn the tap off...it's gonna hurt like hell.

😛

We are weaning #2. With urgency, since the next revision is on the way evidently.

Happy Father's Day 😀
