Congratulations man. So many doctors, nurses, and people just don't emphasize how important breast milk is. Done correctly, you'll have a healthier baby who gets sick far far less that formula raised children.

You'll be shocked if you read up on how long it is recommended to breast feed. We've done our children a huge disservice ignoring how important it is. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends using breast milk exclusively for the first 6 months, and studies find it beneficial through 3 years.

A lot of those studies are from places without safe drinking water so it follows that staying on breast milk for as long as possible helps.

Breast milk in the first few months is absolutely best for baby, theres no question about it.

You know...it will only last so long, even when frozen. Unless you have triplets or something, then that is too much to have on hand.

yeah i'm a bit disappointed with no pics requests. you guys are slacking.

she is going back to work in october, so we're just freezing it so when she goes back or just can't produce, we'll have a stockpile of it.

and yes, freezing it is fine for up to like 6 months or something like that. we have all the bags labeled by date.

and yeah, some of them haev definitely leaked, but its cause they expanded. that was early on then we fixed the problem, told my wife to not fill them up so much.

Ahh...in my experience they don't last 6 months. You can pump at work you know.
