Save it if you don't like to buy anything. you might want to buy something at a later time.

You need to find yourself a hobby or work is going to destroy you after a few years. And like any good hobby, it will be ridiculously expensive :)

Save the money up, and if you see something you will be interested later, you can splurge on that.

edit: It is much harder to save money than to spend, so save up while it is easy for you.

It seems ridiculous that all the money besides food and housing will be going towards retirement.

Invest in a 401k and IRA religiously putting the max into it every year! The power of compounding will easily make you a millionaire by the time you're 60.

well - first if you dont own a home, buy one. Second, i just recently got into scuba diving, if you like the water and are near somewhere that it is convinient to do its worth doing one of the free "learn to dive" lessons. My local dive shop offers something like that. Its a GREAT hobby, and you can meet other new people that way, and pretty soon you'll have a group of friends who scuba, run, and kayak with you :)

Also invest some, do as much as your employer will match in a 401k, and then take some and try investing yourself if you feel you can do the proper research.

Use it to help others. Sponsor children, help a poor kid go to college, etc.

You could always take up crack. You'll go through your money fast with that.

Max out your Roth IRA and 401k before you think about spending your cash. After that...you could always take a trip somewhere. Do you own a home already? If not you could always start saving for that.

Do you not like cars or do you just not have a need for one?

Travel to new locations where you can kayak and/or run.

Eventually you will meet a girl who enjoys the same.

It'll work out.

Travel.

For you, that would translate to taking your kayak and running shoes to another country.

I can understand not wanting to go out and maybe not wanting to date, but does that also mean you don't like teh wimmenz?? :Q

If your plumbing does still work, you can get around the "dating" and get a wife for as little as US$25K in Vietnam or Indonesia. I'm not sure about the prices in China and Eastern Europe.

If it's not a wife you're looking for, you can get temporary carnal gratification for a lot less.

Good luck!

Edit: It's astonishing that Vinny N and I were thinking the same thing... I type slowly.

I haven't graduated yet, but I do have a job, and I'm in the same mindset as you:(. I could keep saving and saving, but what exactly am I saving for? If the *hit hits the fan, woohoo I won't be living in a box? For retirement, I'll have wasted my prime. If I spend it, then I'll never get it back and it won't have been saved. No, I won't give it to you then:).

Good advice here. Something you never dreamed of could come up and you'll need some of that money.

Use it to get even higher education part time, use it to invest for more money, save it for emergency fund, save it for a house, invest in a relationship and find yourself a nice woman that will be with you for the rest of your life.

Use your imagination (responsibly)

im sort of in the same situation.

after college, i got progressively better jobs.

i probably spend half my post tax income. dont ahve a gf, and well in my case i have a nice computer i bought a brand new car in cash, and i bought a big ass tv. without a girlfriend to set money on fire for, just save the money.

im sure you'll need it at some point .

be it some investment oppurtunity, someday buying say real estate, or i dunno maybe you do end up with some woman , or want to go to grad school , having a lot of money sitting around is not a bad thing.

with people like me and you saving we could i dunno get that national savings rate above -2%!

i suppose you guys who are saying if you just keep saving it and never "need " it for something then what do you do?

well i figure if i ever run into that situation 10 years down the line well... ill just buy a ferarri or something.
