I turned into the closest lane. Then as soon as i entered it I started going into the second lane. Thinking it was still clear and glancing and seeing nothing. And no my truck doesnt fucking sway into the other lane every day. When I under estimate the turn sometimes its a little wide but its rare. The only time I wouldnt correct it is when it sways over into the shoulder.

You might want to stop describing the event.

It's getting worse and worse. WHY did you go into the other lane? They are supposed to be TWO manuevers.

Yeah I think I will. Like I said it was a mistake, its not like im blaming someone else. I just dont think not seeing someone in your blind spot is negligent.

It appears you don't understand what "negligent" means...

You failed to notice a car in your blind spot, so you were negligent. You're supposed to know where your blind spots are and adjust your driving accordingly. You should've waited a little longer to make sure nobody was there.

Tonight I hit a 2003 Chrysler. I was at a T turning left onto a 4 lane road *2 lanes in each direction*. I checked to make sure I have enough time to make the turn and I thought I did. However when I was just finishing the turn a car popped out of no where and I hit them in the rear panel. There is no damage to my car and only a minor dent and plastic marks on theres.

So we pull over and trade information when an officer pulls up. She then proceeds to take our stories down and takes my information. Then she returns and gives me an infraction for negligent driving second degree. Now this ticket is for $550 which seems a bit crazy. Also I have been looking up other people who got this and it seems for speeding. I see no reason why I should have been charged since i wasn't speeding or driving dangerously.

If it makes any difference I was driving a 2006 f150 and this is my first ticket/infraction.

I'm thinking of pleading not guilty and either asking for failure to yield or failure to merge. This is in a small town and this officer is a real asshole. She pulled over someone for going 27 or 28 in a 25 going uphill.

Any thoughts or suggestions.

I dont believe a word you say...

the bolded is impossibly false... since you cant be pulled over for doing less than 5 over the speed limit. the vehicle code says so.

I don't know what chain letter email you got that from, but he's right. You can be pulled over for speeding at 1mph over. Most cops won't do that however. Many states don't consider it a moving violation and report it to you insurance carrier until 5 over or 10 over, depending on the state and speed limit.

I didnt get it from a chain letter... I got it from the vehicle code, specifically PA Title 75, chapter 33. While oregon might be an exception... at minimal 20 other states mimic exactly the vehicle code adopted by pennsylvania, and several others have a similar form.

Moreover, it is the FHWA's minimum tolerance requirement (66 FR 29855) for Setting and Enforcing Speed Limits.

Regardless of what your local rent-a-cops want to do... its up to you to know the laws setforth by FHWA and your state, as to how the DOT and Police can enforce the speed limit.
and know your rights therein.

I'm going to assume you're 16 and just got your license since making a left turn into the right lane of a multi lane road is a big no no. I'm surprised you even passed your licensing exam not knowing something so basic. Read over your drivers ed material. I fear for people driving around you. Are you even sure what to do at Yield signs?

Definitely need a satellite pic of said intersection with paintbrush drawings of what happened.

Provided.

Is the diagram correct in that you intentionally tried to start a turn in one lane and finish it in another?

seems like the other guy was at fault and not the OP. if you take a look at the image, right lane (blue) is SUPPOSED to turn RIGHT ONLY. it's not two left turn lanes.

They were both at fault (according to the diagram). The OP turned into the wrong lane, but the other guy made an illegal turn to begin with.

Both turns are me. I just made them look bigger, so it bleed over into the right hand turn lane. I do check my blind spots, I just failed to see the car.

1. Staying in your lane while turning would have avoided the collision.
2. F150s don't have bad blind spots (I drive one). Of course I also have a couple of those $2 blind spot mirrors, so that might be a good investment for you.

No, you didn't check your blind spots. If you checked your blind spots, you would have seen the car. Else, the car was in plain sight and you didn't see it. Else it has a cloak of invisibility which it turned off just a fraction of a second before the accident.

I don't mean to join in on a "bash the OP", but really, you're just digging yourself a deeper hole here. Simply, you caused the accident. It was your fault. You weren't careful enough and didn't see the other car coming.

BUT, hopefully you can get out of that ticket or get it reduced; that amount of a ticket really seems unfair for a minor fender bender.

tasmanian, you may want to stop digging that hole. You are at about 40 feet now, you are never going to get out.
