Gulf Coast Gasoline Discount Widens After Motiva Starts Coker
Gulf Coast gasoline fell after Motiva Enterprises LLC started a new delayed coker at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.
The refinery is expanding to become the largest in the nation, with the capacity to process 600,000 barrels a day.
Sunoco Inc. (SUN) said today that it may sell a majority stake in its 330,000-barrel-a-day Philadelphia refinery to Carlyle Group (CG) and keep the plant running. Sunoco said it delayed plans to idle the facility while the discussions continue.

Houses Boarded Up As More Accept Marathon Offer To Move
Neighbors living in the shadow of southwest Detroits Marathon Oil refinery are coming around on the companys offer to buy their homes to make room for a $2 million expansion.
The company upping the ante, offering a minimum appraisal of $50,000.
Id describe it as a decent offer, but I think they couldve done it better, said Francisco Duran, whose parents are taking the offer and moving downriver. Some of the families around this neighborhood are struggling. I mean, either way theyre gonna get kicked out of their homes. So they might as well give them something decent so they can go buy themselves another house, ya know?
Duran said he has misgivings about leaving the neighborhood were grew up, but doesnt mind the Marathon deal if it will mean more jobs for the area.
