I've read that you must park within 30 cm of the curb... Cannot park close enough to crosswalks to deter children from looking for traffic, parking close to interesections...

Nothing about parking too close... 😕

A 2 minute google search provides this insight to the OP's infraction(it's for Burlington, but I'm sure he can look up the rules for Vancouver):

#Beware ? The City requires vehicles to park at least 6 meters from the curb line of the intersecting street.

Alright, I'll pay, but what sucks is the exchange rate is almost 1:1 plus credit card companies now charge $3 for foreign transactions....

Plus it was a stupid ticket anyway, "too close" wth does that mean?

I was going to say quit being a cheapass and pay it since it's only $30, but wtf kind of offense is parking too close to the curb? 😕 How close were you? Here in the US you're supposed to shoot for 6-12" I think.

Now that you've mentioned it. Does the vehicles in the US have both miles and km scale? Otherwise I'd imagine it'll be a real pain to drive in Canada and keep track of speed??

A lot of cars I've driven in (all?) had KMPH listed on the speedometer as well. You never notice it unless you look for it though.

Ah, well that makes sense, we have the same rule here... but I think they usually mark it here.

Although it's strange to call it parking too close to the curb when really he's parking too close to the intersection.
