So I drove from Seattle to Vancouver BC recently, and got a parking ticket for parking too close to the curb, $30 canadian dollars. My Washington State license plate is on the ticket, but for Province they put BC instead of WA or US. Does anyone have experience with something like this? If I don't pay it do u think they can track it?

Whaaaaaaaaaaat? Isn't the object to get as close as possible to the curb?

Somebody answer the man. I was wondering the same thing.

I've read that you must park within 30 cm of the curb... Cannot park close enough to crosswalks to deter children from looking for traffic, parking close to interesections...

Nothing about parking too close... 😕

uh.... good luck getting into canada next time buddy. your choice, especially with all the terrorism going on these days.

A 2 minute google search provides this insight to the OP's infraction(it's for Burlington, but I'm sure he can look up the rules for Vancouver):

#Beware ? The City requires vehicles to park at least 6 meters from the curb line of the intersecting street.

Alright, I'll pay, but what sucks is the exchange rate is almost 1:1 plus credit card companies now charge $3 for foreign transactions....

Plus it was a stupid ticket anyway, "too close" wth does that mean?

I was going to say quit being a cheapass and pay it since it's only $30, but wtf kind of offense is parking too close to the curb? 😕 How close were you? Here in the US you're supposed to shoot for 6-12" I think.

Best to pay...

My dad got a ticket for driving 60 mph instead of 60 km/h (whoops 🙂). So more than likely they can probabaly track you down...

But dang, those policemen must like risking their lives jumping out in front of you to stop your car, just to give you a ticket for speeding...

Now that you've mentioned it. Does the vehicles in the US have both miles and km scale? Otherwise I'd imagine it'll be a real pain to drive in Canada and keep track of speed??

A lot of cars I've driven in (all?) had KMPH listed on the speedometer as well. You never notice it unless you look for it though.

Ah, well that makes sense, we have the same rule here... but I think they usually mark it here.

Although it's strange to call it parking too close to the curb when really he's parking too close to the intersection.

If you don't pay, the Canadian Ninja will come for you in your sleep. The first time he won't hurt you. He merely leaves a maple leaf on the night stand. The second time though... ouch... you don't wanna know...

Don't they put out a warranty for your arrest if you don't pay your ticket?
For the 1st 90 days after purchase, all parts and customer support are covered. After the initial 90-day period up until 1 year after the original purchase date, customer support is billable at a rate of $80/hr, and parts are only shipped if defective.

😕

HAHAHA
