That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Why would a 'tree-humpin hippie' be jealous of a Suburban?

let me guess, you're a tree-humpin, tofu eatin, non-passenger-carryin, commie-hippie bastard? You drive a prius or some other wuss-mobile right? ;)

No, I'm President of the Ani-SUV Brigade. Can't you read?

Oh, and I drive a Maxima when I'm not riding my bicycle to work.

I'll clarify: 17-18 MPG when NOT taking advantage of the supercharger.
I doubt it. Even stock it has problems getting those numbers on the fwy. My friend's averages ~12mpg city.
 Thanks for the global warming america, you fvckers!

FYI: I also seriously looked at both VW golf and jetta TDIs, (45+ MPG) but I couldn't find them close to the price of the Suburban in decent shape/low miles. So I gave up. Diesels are just too pricey for me.

The quicker the world recognizes that America RULES, (FVCK YEAH!) the better this place will be. Oh, and... YOU'RE WELCOME!
And on a more serious note, you do know that hurricanes have hit our coastline before we drove SUV's right?

I'm all about conservation, but if a fuel efficient vehicle costs more than a less-fuel efficient vehicle that meets my needs better, at what point do you decide its worth it? You can't just demonize every SUV driver, despite what the bandwagon preaches.

It's hard to have a sense of humor when you have splinters from humping trees. :(

Seriously, it seems like every time someone doesn't like something, they're accused of being jealous. I just don't get it.

It's statements like this that lead me to believe that while most of mankind has been evolving there are people like yourself that are being left behind. The primitive part of your brain that is saying "BIG BETTER ME LIKE BIG" is dominant and rarely questioned. An educated evolved person has this once dominant portion of their brain suppressed and defaults to a more logical interpretation of the physical world. If the less evolved person were to take a dozen sledge hammer bashings to the head, the primitive brain would still stay intact. This would ultimately lead to death by way of sudden stupidity.

Does one person really need FOUR V8 powered sports coupes?

Does one person really need ONE Ferrari Enzo? No, but it would sure be nice to have one. Just like it's nice to have my four cars.

It's funny, my wife and I were talking recently about getting a new car and she brought up SUVs. I shot that down quick though. We have one son who will be 4 years old in August. We have a 4 door fullsize sedan (a Nissan Maxima) that is plenty large enough to haul the three of us anywhere we need to go.

Would it be nice to have a big truck or SUV for the rare occassion we could actually use one? Yes, it would, but is it a necessity? Hell no. And with gas prices at $3.50/gallon you would think more people would do the same type of evaluation of their needs.

Maybe when it gets up to $5/gallon...

Compared to what?

Anything that doesn't weigh 3 tons.

Agreed...

There's this wonderful concept called: Power-to-Weight Ratio.

While the your Suburban has a fair amount of horsepower...it's still a heavy son-of-a-bitch...

You're not as fast as you think you are.

And it's still excess. You had a huge rant on excess of size. You have an excess of quantity(and size of engine to a degree). Still the same primal chest beating desires of the id that you were complaining about.

And tell me, oh psychic one, just how fast do I think I am? Read my thoughts for me. It has a lot more power than stock, that's all i'm saying.

Once again, AmigaMan's post was a joke.
