My used GC died about three months after I bought it. Well, it didn't so much as die, it will just play a game for a few minutes before giving a disc read error.

Super Monkey Ball and Smash Brothers Melee are two excellent games. My brother owns the GC and my friends and I like to play those two games the most.

Can you hear it even with the game's sound on? I'm not at home but I've never heard any audible noise from my GC, except when I turn it on and the disc spins up.
