Camaro meant for speed? Not with a suspension like a truck, well speed maybe as long as there are no curves or bumps in the road.
name another car that costs so little and gets around a track as fast?
I can't, and I would like to see those lap times compared to other cars - All I know is that Camaros (as well as Mustangs) have a suspension that was already outdated in the 60/70s. C'mon a live axle - that is 40s style. I doubt they get around a real track fast, I have never been in a car whose rear end breaks out so easily.

Seriously, 150 on a highway with light traffic and 3 or more lanes on each side really isn't that fast. I have maintained higher speeds than that for 330 consecutive miles. There are parts of I-75 where if you are going under 110mph most people will be passing you.
I'm pretty sure you were suggesting getting rid of speed limits in jest, but I'll suggest it with conviction.
P.S. I have driven 115 in New York City. THAT I would agree is dangerous, maybe even somewhat insane. It was an attempt to scare my family so that they wouldn't keep haivng me shofer them all over the place to areas where finding a parking spot takes longer than walking there. It didn't work they enjoyed the "taxi roller coaster" and wanted to ride it even more.

Actually, he has a case full of trophies from riding superbikes. He's a very competent driver on four wheels, too 😉

Deserted road, light/no traffic, middle of BFE, noon, midnight, z-rated bs, same rear-end as NASCAR, blah blah blah, more bs, somebody spouts token engineering spec of this vs that which somehow validates more bs?
Most of you pimple faced dipsticks are claiming speeds that said car isn?t even capable of or is hard wire limited. Oh yeah, that?s right ? ya?ll have them chipped or clipped and were using high octane gas or a ?tricked out? something or other.

Actually, I know this programmer guy, who can code the sh*t out of nearly anything you can think of. He makes a lot of money cuz he just plain ?knows stuff? about coding. But I?m thinkin? I?d not ask him to do any entry level maintenance on my network.

Meaning = 2 wheel trophy excellence does not = 4 wheel common sense proficiency. Further, I?d bet said trophies were won in a somewhat controlled environment; that is, a purposeful event designed for the characteristics of relevant sport which undoubtedly considers the safety of non-participants.
We all know it?s fun. But no matter what kind of grasp you think you have on driving, laws of physics, or empty roads: you are being fatally reckless in a public place. YOU put other?s lives at risk.
Just because you live these experiences w/out a scratch or some of you have driven faster in worse situations does not validate or justify idiotic, dangerous behavior. Sticky tires, race suspension? unbelievably ?glued to the road?. Glue your f*?ing head to a DOT statistic of high speed wrecks and tell me how many of those people had trophies, sticky tires and empty roads. I?m sure they?d all like another chance to undo what they thought was their harmless right of passage.
It?s a cliché, tired and somewhat stupid saying ?It?s all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out?. But it?s true. Unfortunately, it?s usually the innocent people who pay the price for this kind of stupidity.
Let?s give in to one flight of fancy though ? let?s say it really is an empty road and you crash it up and you die, but you didn?t crash into anyone. Your theory of you?re only hurting yourself is reasonable ? that is if you can control the possibility of whether or not anyone else gets in your way (which you can't), and can also control whether it?ll be too late for oncoming or following traffic to steer clear w/out hazard (which you can't control either).
Nah, let?s not entertain that scenario. Because it?d still be MY tax paying dollars scraping your ass off the pavement.
Here's your trophy Asshat.

Doing 145mph on a non-private road and not on a racetrack and, thus, on a road not designed for that speed is stupidity. Not to mention an untrained driver behind the wheel.
I am not saying that's untrue, but without some proof I just think that can be the case. You're saying the average car on that section of the i75 goes 110+?Originally posted by: glugglugThere are parts of I-75 where if you are going under 110mph most people will be passing you.
That I don't believe. Simply untrue. Noway you've maintained 150mph + for more than two hours unless it was on the autobahn and then the driving conditions are totally different from those in the US.Seriously, 150 on a highway with light traffic and 3 or more lanes on each side really isn't that fast. I have maintained higher speeds than that for 330 consecutive miles.
\At those speeds, all it takes is 2 blinks and you've just smashed into someone else, or you've just hit a small pothole and you are dead (along with any passengers)

I hope this was some private road that he had access to or a racetrack.
Otherwise, your buddy is an idiot. (and you, too.)
Compared to you? You are a Computer Geek who spends all day running seti hoping to find a girlfriend from out of space since you are too shy to talk to a real girl.

I know a road like that out in the country down here.... 😀 Ive "allegedly" gone 130 down it. 😉
A lot of kids know about it and talk about their fast runs down it. Nice long straight away that nothing is on and it just has fenced in cows on both sides.

driving 145 on a straight 6 mile strip with no cars around isnt dangerous...(to anyone else) especially in a camaro (or any other decent car) that is meant for speed.
if you get a camaro ur not gonna be under the speed limt all the time..well if you do then you are just stupid...
alot of people like driving cars..and seeeing what they can do...
just like people who like to overclock their comps.... they want to see how far they can push it...(its nice when you can get it operating at a certain high point)...
if they drive it a car at 145 at 5 o clock on a city road then that is messed up... but they didd'nt.
Well, hell! Let's just get rid of speed limits entirely! What's the point?
Sure! Let's all drive whatever the hell speed we want whenever we want.
BTW, what would have happened had our poster (and his driving buddy) been hit by a cop's radar gun at that speed? Hmmm?
Can you say handcuffs?

You have no idea what you are talking about. At those speeds you're looking WAY down the road, like hundreds of yards.
OK pansies, one more time. 145 is not that fast.
