At those speeds, all it takes is 2 blinks and you've just smashed into someone else, or you've just hit a small pothole and you are dead (along with any passengers)

You have no idea what you are talking about. At those speeds you're looking WAY down the road, like hundreds of yards.

OK pansies, one more time. 145 is not that fast.

What kind of an asinine statement is that? Grow the hell up.

Its a true statement.

1) 145 isn't that fast. You're moving for sure but it isn't the "you're gonna die if you break the 100 MPH barrier" speed some are trying to make it out to be.
2) you're a pansie girlie boy if that speed frightens you.

Also I'm quite grown up and have become mature enough to appreicate these speeds at the right place and time during my 18 years of driving experience.

What is your definition of the "right place"? I wonder what that 18 year old kid thought about the right place when he was going 100+mph when he killed his own mother? I'm sure everyone remembers that story.

We had a local guy die about a block away from me, because he felt doing 75mph on a normal public street at midnight was a cool thing to do. These stories are around ad infinitum.

If you're going 145 on any public road you are putting others with more sense in danger. If you're not, then by all means go as fast as you want. I've been that fast on a track, and yes, it is fun.

P.S. I have driven 115 in New York City. THAT I would agree is dangerous, maybe even somewhat insane. It was an attempt to scare my family so that they wouldn't keep haivng me shofer them all over the place to areas where finding a parking spot takes longer than walking there. It didn't work they enjoyed the "taxi roller coaster" and wanted to ride it even more.
I've driven & worked in all 5 boros of NYC, you must tell me what road you did 115 on!!

🙂

3rd Ave in Brooklyn, also in Battery Tunnel.

If I ride my motorcycle 170mph, I'm less a danger to the public, than a 18 wheeler with a load of chlorine traving 70 mph!

Doing 145mph on a non-private road and not on a racetrack and, thus, on a road not designed for that speed is stupidity. Not to mention an untrained driver behind the wheel.
It sounds very unsafe to say the least. They both would have been dead if they had blown out their tires.

Why would their tires blow out???? Christ.
GG, your a total moron. I'm not saying they would "normally" blow out. But in your life have you ever know a tire to blow? Sh*t happens and rubber gets hot and old. Can you imagine it? Can you?
