Gore has a point.. The teacher is a big part(Problem, depending on your point of view) in public schools. Most of us here know that a good teacher means a good class.

Hmm... Bush has a point.. But teachers don't need knowledge-tests, they need teaching tests. There's no doubt that teachers have the knowledge to teach. It's the way they teach that matters.

Yeah what about vouchers? Big difference. Even low income Dems want vouchers. Talk about why they shouldn't have them Gore...

Ornery-

He thinks my family of me and my wife (60k total) as rich. What an twit!!

Ohhhh... now its MANDATORY tests... I KNOW he said voluntary earlier!! Hell, the lies never stop!!

Gore, without vouchers, you promote a social discrimination (private schools primarily where wealthy go). I thought that was against your beliefs!! Weeble wobble....

I notice the union teachers aren't going without their raises despite this lack of money in the schools. Oh yeah, they don't want vouchers either...

I still don't know or understand why Bush would be a good choice for president, and why Gore would be bad, Ornery. ;)

Another good question by Lehrer, but I don't agree with the premise. I want issues taken care of first and foremost. There are experts in every field available to make decisions on crisis situations...

Clinton didn't accept a balance budget until Republicans made it an issue. Clinton wanted to wait longer. Now Gore wants to claim his party cut spending by the goverment.

OMG! The wealthy AGAIN! That's the difference in the last eight years. That's what put the economy on the right track... screwing the wealthy. Great plan!

BTW, when did getting my wife into the workforce put me into the category of "the wealthy". SOB, give me back SOME of that money! Don't worry, I'll spend it wisely...

Bush sounds awfully desperate here. He is embarassing his supporters. He had better request 1/2 debates instead of 90 minutes.
