That seems to be the great GOP hope, that somehow a better slogan will cure what ails them.

Advertising slogans slogans can help some, but when the GOP has run their own name into the gutter with bad results, the best a slogan like that can do is to pull the democrats down slightly, because it does nothing to repair their own image.

Handouts to failing businesses, and taxes on beer, soda, etc? There couldnt be a better thing to happen to a (R)'s election chances.

In short the (R)'s want the country to fail so they can resume pushing the failed policies that got us here in the first place.

Well it looks like the dems control the government right now - a DEM president, the majority in congress is Dem. Looks like the next few years are going to be rosy. Heck, with a tax cheat leading the IRS, the efficient bailouts saving big business, and the forerunner of liberal states, California, running a huge budget surplus. Things can only get better :p

Yea, those pesky Repubs.. What do they know? I'm so glad that the torture pictures are finally made public. Gitmo closed and the prisoners sent merrily along to their respective countries -- yea, those people weren't really terrorist after all.

I see only happy days ahead. With medicare and SS being solvent for the next 100's years, I'm sure government's going to do a good job with UHC too. ;-P Remember folks keep smiling. We voted for Obama and he provide us with so many jobs that we have one of the lowest unemployment rate in history.

Its a great time to be American.

It's the old "Argue with an Idiot" ploy. Instead of fixing themselves, they'll just use perception to drag the opposition down to their level.

The republican party motto should be "we got nothing". Seriously, these guys are so out of touch they think we're still in the 50s and the very mention of socialism will strike fear into the hearts of every man, woman and child. Republicans tried the socialism smear thing ad nauseum during the bulk of the presidential campaign. Apparently the RNC "emergency meeting" folks didn't get the memo that nobody gives a shit.

Most democrats I know think they want to be socialists.

Dont worry because soon the country will be so broke that you be taxed at the 65% tax rate.

Cap & Trade Tax is just another Income Tax/Usage Tax in disguise.

Now O'Bamma wants to start up a new health care system when our present Social Security and Medicaid is causing the government to the edge of bankruptcy.

Wait till no one can get a loan for a house or a car and you have to come up with the cash!!!!

This may be the stupidest political resolution ever. It truly is like children in the playground.

Almost like liberals trying to rebrand themselves as "progressive" because of how dirty the word "liberal" is?

"Permanent Minority Party"

"Old White Guys who Hate America Party"

"Same old Shit Party"

By the way, piasa, I'm am small business owner who left the republican party because it does nothing but prostrate itself to narrowly defined corporate interests, and rightwing evangelical nutcases like yourself.

I'm not a democrat, but their is no other viable option, and I'd walk 100 miles to vote for anyone besides a republican.

There's a key difference right there. I'd also wonder why the need for that "rebranding"(which I think is bupkis to begin with) anyway? hmmm...

The Right is using "socialist" too much, and to broadly. Most people like the Obama Administration and the Democrats; if they are socialist then people like socialism. Once the electorate realizes that it likes socialism, and that socialism is in its best interest, the GOP will be dead.

Haha, yeah, the funny thing is, these retards actually think this measure is going to HELP the GOP.

Here's what goes through the mind of your average ATPN republican when he hears about this resolution:

"Heh, you get 'em GOP"

Here's what your average voter who's hurting because of the last 8 years of Bush is thinking:

"Are you f***ing kidding me? Instead of coming up with actual solutions, you guys are coming up with stupid name calling and actually holding RESOLUTIONS to make it official, F*** THE REPUBLICANS"

So i officially endorse this resolution, because it reinforces what most of us know: Republicans are stupid and childlike with nothing to offer America except incompetence. I also endorse Rush Limbaugh as the de facto head of the Republican party for the exact same reason.

The more Republicans shoot them selves in the foot, the more people leave their party to become independants and democrats (just look at the trend).

You never know....that didn't help the republicans last time around. People seem to be much more amiable to a more progressive system of taxation due to the recent economic crisis and the decades long increasing gap between the haves and have nots, despite increased productivity/efficiency in our economy.

The Dems won't push any seriously-large new taxes. Sure, they may tinker with top-end rates a bit, and maybe add some new nickel-and-dime fees here and there, but they won't come close to closing the budget gap (say, under $500B) anytime soon. They'll just continue doing what both parties have been doing for the last several years - borrow money - until that's no longer sustainable. Of course, by the time those chickens come home to roost, the current generation of politicians will be retired (and probably dead).

Anything to hurt republicans more in the coming elections

Of course, you're too stupid to see it, but hey, if it helps our side, i guess we can agree with it together.

I'll say it again. It's idiots like you that fuck up politics. You see it as us vers them. You don't really care about the message, you just want to be on a "winning" side. You're fucking pathetic and if you idiots that call yourself Dems and Repubs could get your heads out of your asses and stop making it a contest on who gets to run the play ground and look at it as how can WE make our country better.

Even more so during a recession widely seen to be caused by the elites. All the Democrats need to do is spin the word in a clever way and it might actually help them.

"" National Harbor is a spectacular waterfront resort destination on the banks of the Potomac River ""

When a conference call for your rebranding (firebranding?) won't do ... call a special meeting! At National Harbor resort. Operators are standing ..... Bye!

And the liberal's FAILURE to embrace their ideology and instead ran from it thus cementing the notion.
