Repub congress critters understand it well enough to want it because it smells like money... Tax cuts insure the support of their far right donors... They'll worry about selling it to their constituents later.

The time limit for reconciliation is September 30th. The GOP seem to want to sneak this in between hurricanes right before the deadline and hope that the voting public doesn't notice. Not even going to get a full score from the CBO before the vote.

Arizona Governor Ducey is for the bill. He says he has no idea what the impacts will be for Arizona but that whatever they are, it will be better than the ACA. So much for the argument that governors know what's best for their states.

What a pathetic despicable way to sell out his middle class and poor constituency. The GOP heads of state must've really laid into him in order to force McCain to get on board this train wreck in progress.

Too bad most working class Repubs would prefer to give up their own best interests and willingly take the major financial hit they're going to get slammed with from their party leaders in DC should this fake most lied about piece of crap legislation pass into law.

One thing I'm missing form the GOP; we've been told socialzied medicine/single player is horrible and pretty much the worst thing you could impose on someone. So when will the GOP get around to dismantling the horrors that is the VA system? It's government run from end to end! They would let our brave soldiers suffer under such a system when they have the power to stop it?! How could they?! I can't wait until they shut down every VA hospital, fire every doctor and just give veterans a stipend to buy insurance on the open market like the rest of us. #saveusfromVA #singlepayerkills

I'm surprised no one linked Jimmy Kimmel's opening monologue from last night yet (I'm not competent enough to do so). In five or ten minutes he absolutely destroyed any pretense this bill has any benefit other than to cut taxes for the very rich.

if this passes, when it takes effect the economy is going to take a real hit. I don't even have to look at the bill to know that any effective dates that cause damage will be after the next election.

This is political malpractice and malfeasance.
 
Everyone pay attention they (R's) consistently talk about coverage being available to everyone, they don't talk about everyone having coverage.
The pricing part is never spoken about.
So yes the guy who has had 3 heart attacks may not be denied coverage but that coverage may cost $16k per month.
They haven't started this yet but they will, a 60% reduction in cost for a 20 year old and a 30% increase for a 55 year old DO NOT EQUAL A 30% reduction.
One guy saves $60 per month the other guy pays $125 more per month. That is not a savings.

You know, I could maybe give you 10 reasons why this bill shouldn’t be considered. But Republicans campaigned on this so often that you have a responsibility to carry out what you said in the campaign. That’s pretty much as much of a reason as the substance of the bill.​
