I thought the plan was a 33% surcharge for 1 year(?) for lapsed coverage. Like it should cost $100 per month but now its $133 per month.
Either way its a dumb system
What it sounds like its a mandate. Lol

Why does this seem to be a problem for you? Isn't it logical to compare the projected effects of changes to the healthcare system to the current system in place?
The ACA is far from perfect but it is an improvement over what was in place before from the standpoint of the number of people with health coverage.
Well now that the shoe is on the other foot, I would hope the Dems glean over this Repub Replacement Plan in the most complete and thorough ways possible and then make their findings very public about whether or not the new plan actually benefits the people this new plan was supposed to be designed for or the profiteers that have corrupted so many of our politicians into seeing things all their way.
I know where to place my bets on this fixed game.
I don't know anyone that was ok with that. total BS.
But anyways, the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak....and I expect nothing more from the party that can't tell a full truth if Christ himself was standing next to them.
That applies to both parties.
What it sounds like its a mandate. Lol
What I'm saying is: In this forum it doesn't matter what is put up by the republicans, it will be ripped to shreds no matter how good it is.
I am convinced that some in here would poop on it if everything was free and all were covered 100%.
Ideally we would have a really bare-bones Medicaid for all that was seriously stingy. And then people would buy supplemental plans.
Of course Democrats would screw that one up most likely.

So what? You just pick the one whose lies you like the best?
No, I pick the one that aligns best with the way I feel.
Granted neither have our ( yours nor mine ) best interest at heart.
Trump is incompetent. The GOP Congress is ideological and unmoored from reality.
I predict a market collapse. It will be bad.
24/9/2015 - Healthcare costs are rising so fast in advanced economies that they will become unaffordable by mid-century without reforms, according to a new OECD report.
Fiscal Sustainability of Health Systems: Bridging Health and Finance Perspectives finds that going over budget on health spending remains endemic in most OECD countries. Maintaining today’s healthcare, and funding future medical advances, will be difficult without major reforms that will require health and finance ministries to work together, it says.
Although the crisis led to a slowdown in health spending growth, particularly in Europe, public expenditure on health and long-term care in OECD countries is set to increase from around 6% of GDP today to almost 9% of GDP in 2030 and as much as 14% by 2060, unless governments can contain costs, according to OECD projections.

Europe's HC costs are rising virtually uncontrollably. Comparison of GDP/HC costs is different from increasing HC costs.
