The longer it goes the worse it gets. If healthcare starts running up against fall deadlines like the budget, debt ceiling, etc there will be no room for it.

Let's not forget that the longer they delay the more Trump is going to sabotage the ACA to create a healthcare crisis all in the hopes of getting a law named Trumpcare.

Trump's leverage is limited with the Senate. It's up to McConnell to wheel and deal his way there if possible. The Trump aligned PAC ads against Heller were reportedly very poorly received in the caucus. Either trying to sabotage the ACA further or attacking balky Rs will backfire on the process.

Not being able to muster the votes to proceed ain't a promising sign.

Reports that McConnell wants to make changes to the bill and go get a new CBO score.

Heard an interview with Ted Cruz a little while ago in the car. That's the angle he's taking saying CBO's data is old since they are saying premiums on average will only go up 20%. Of course Cruz is quoting increases since the Repubs have cut some funding to ACHA and destabilized the market through the Republicans actions and saying the increases are 70% in some states. Guess which ones, you know the ones that did not sign up for expanded Medicare.

Portman and Capito are dumping on the bill now that the vote has been delayed. Murkowski clearly pissed about the PP defunding.

Even with a couple hundred billion in his pocket McConnell is going to have a tough time bridging the gap between the moderates and the conservatives.

Trump's got them all over at the WH and Murkowski looks like she wants to strangle him. Guessing she's still a likely "no".

Well the ACA wasn't wise either, see where it is going....

The current proposals from the Senate and Congress both suck. Neither the Democrats or Republicans can bend even the slightest for any compromise. And that is where we are currently.

The main reason we are here is they are working on the wrong problem.

The primary problems are:
1.) Healthcare for profit.
2.) Healthcare cost due to # 1 above.

It's not wise to let it implode.

Con's don't care about healthcare, or fixing anything.

Neither do the Dems... If they cared they would have fixed it before they lost control. They are both only concerned about their own sweet buttocks. If they did care they would meet together and iron this crap sandwich out. The Dems excluded the Reps when they did the ACA and now the shoe is on the other foot. Other than that it is all the same.

Let it implode and when the excrement hits the air recirculating device maybe they can get it together.

Please, I used to buy that both sides are same, and in some cases it may apply, but not in healthcare.

We can agree on addressing costs is the real starting point.

Why do you persist with that nonsense? It's a matter of public record that the ACA was debated in committee with Repubs, Repubs offered changes and amendments.....etc., etc.

(Sept. 20, 2009) The Senate Finance Committee Tuesday began the last, and so far the most crucial, piece of writing legislation to overhaul the nation's health care system — and quickly demonstrated how tough a task lawmakers face.

Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., revised key elements of the carefully crafted compromise that he announced only a week ago. The 13 Democrats and 10 Republicans took more than three hours to make their opening statements expressing their views. Committee members offered 564 amendments.

The Senate Finance Committee took up another version of the bill. Senators initially offered 564 amendments. During that markup, about six Republican amendments were adopted via roll call vote, and others were adopted by unanimous consent, without objection, and via voice vote, according to coverage by Congressional Quarterly. Parts of this bill merged with the bill the HELP committee marked up to become the final law.

Yeah, that's excluded.

Regardless... I'll rephrase what I stated. Very little Republican input...

They are still holding the wrong end of the stick, both parties.
