Yet somehow it has the same 1000 charging cycles before battery hits 80% like competing China phones. While S25 is rated for 2000 cycles while offering comparably pathe... slow charging speeds.

Sure maybe it has 1000 charging cycles - if you charge it at reasonable rates. No way it would last a fraction of that many charge cycles if it was being charged at 100W each time.

I just charge mine every two days in the morning, I have it set for 80% limit but most of the time I don't even hit that.

Nah, I meant how google is now deliberately nuking battery voltage every 200 cycles, and how they had multiple phones now where they like artificially halved battery capacity. For safety they say. Must be using trash cells.

With that battery usage you are barely using the phone, so it should not affect you though.

They screwed up with some of their battery sources and have now implemented safety measures. Apple had similar issues (which even included CPU throttling), Samsung too (they straight up burned). If we judge them by this standard then everyone is using trash cells. Samsung claiming 2000 cycles for their EU stickers is a nice reassurement, but AFAIK those claims do not necessarily represent an actual limit of the cells. Apple is claiming the same 1000 cycles as Google, the same applies for Xiaomi flagships. My guess is they just quote numbers their batteries can pass when used judiciously (with 10W chargers most likely).

I wrote that in the context of negative effect of fast charging.
Allegedly it ruins battery (after an undisclosed time and usage pattern, and disregarding some of the features like 80% and various implementations of "smart" charging, and the fact that you don't HAVE to use fast charging all the time).

But google does not have fast charging yet it artificially does the same thing.

So you end up with presumably similar net result, but you missed out on fast charging.

Not the end of the world, but just dumb.

They do have fast charging though, just not the fastest charging. The Pixel 10, who IIRC is the first to have mandatory battery protection (voltage nuking), charges at 30W.

Basically probably fine for lighter games but Wuthering Waves didn't run that great. After 10 minutes started to lag pretty badly and it did get pretty hot.
