Updates in the background, zero-lag HDR+, no hump and unlimited photo storage.

This is actually quite a good package so far. But they have to have this out from carriers and advertise.

wanna switch from iphone - we have a tool/cable included for that

that's pretty comical and awesome

Verizon? I guess I don't care much as I buy unlocked.

yea its an interesting choice, but they had to go with someone and VZW still has the best coverage

mine will come from the google store

you can do a payment plan from the google store apparently so this really isn't any different vs getting it on carrier

I think the main reason for wanting it on more carriers for example T-Mobile, is you can use stuff like the Jump program to get the phone on interest free monthly payments. But they did mention you could get it on monthly payments from the Google Store.

So what do we think watching TV and movies will be like in Daydream? Seems kind of interesting.

The Gear VR let's you be in a virtual movie theater. It's pretty cool to be honest. I could be laying down in bed watching a movie but feel like I'm in a movie theater in front of a big screen.

Yeah, I got that part. I just wish it was available on more carriers.

I thought you said you buy unlocked?

Anyway, I'm the other way around. I'd rather they don't have to sell out and 'exclusively' partner with any carrier at all, but obviously there are still significant percentage of potential customers who don't really have the money to buy the phone outright that they still want to buy the phone (and don't mind being subsidized by a carrier). So I guess one carrier partnership is fine. It's getting there.

So... google looks like it's still being stubborn about not adopting wireless charging. Hard to swallow that price when such a thing is still getting snubbed.

Not everyone buys unlocked. I was hoping this for friends and family members that remain beholden to their carriers.

Yeah I misread your first comment. I replied to it because I thought you didn't care about this phone because it is only available from Verizon.

Curious how this unlimited photo/video thing is going to work. If I buy one will my account be forever unlimited? Does the photo/video need to be tagged by the pixel somehow or does it get tagged when it is uploaded by a pixel?

I missed the event, they don't have a 64gb version? So it's either 32 or 128gb and the bigger one is $800+. I need to catch up on what they revealed so far.

- an iPhone with unlimited photos/video storage
- Gear VR with a remote
- 4k chromecast
- wifi router
- echo
- google assistant

Think that was everything.

Thought it was kind of weird that they didn't showcase Allo/Duo on the pixel (or maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention).

No mention of OIS on the pixel, anyone hear anything? Very disappointed if it doesn't have it.

That was an interesting way to end the livestream...

Thanks for the quick summary. I can't see myself going from 64gb to 32 now with no expandable storage. The 128gb model is just way more than I'd like to pay to upgrade.

$869 plus tax..yea sorry not worth the upgrade right now from my 6p.

No new tablet, or laptop. Nothing on Andromeda OS. Maybe some were false rumors, or maybe those will just launch without a live stream event.

From first reactions I've seen, can't say anyone happy with the price for what's being provided. A general WTF lulz would summarize their response.
