dude, google maps rule. i can't believe how much easier it is to move your viewing area compared to mapquest. hopefully the finished product keeps with the sweet ui for the maps and improves functionality for trips.
 
This is way better than MapQuest for maps. I think that Google is going to take over the internet.

thats what happened when you do something with originality instead of following somebody else
 
The accuracy near where I live is WAY off. Road names wrong, town names replacing village names...of course, it is kinda backwoods...
 
On my trip I am taking tomorrow, I will go by what both mapquest and yahoo maps told me. They are both the same distance while the map google generated is 100 miles longer. (Saint George, UT to Glendale, AZ)

Simply put, beta is a trial release, not quite ready for retail/final. They have people "beta test" to find the glaring and hidden bugs/quirks and then correct them.
