It seems like every map program gets my house in the wrong location, my house is 5 houses down from where they claim it is. Also like google the arial is out of date.

In the just renamed my street by my camop in maine and it showed up... also the road the built last winter. Overall i have a lot of potential google world still rocks it though

Another plus for Microsoft map is they have an aerial of Davis, CA and my school UCD. Google has no aerial of Davis, Ca.

2 advantages so far:
-Obviously the bird's-eye-view pics are closer/clearer
-Pics seem more recent, at least I can tell that the pic of my campus in Philadelphia was taken last winter.

It's got one-way streets marked properly in my town, I like that. No other map service has figured that out yet.

No birds eye for my area, though.

i keep having it say "birds eye view available" then I click it and it says, "no birds eye view available" and im in los angeles

The aerial photos are the same quality as google's and the Birds Eye view photos, though incredibly cool, is VERY limited. They don't even have them for Chicago.

Use the 'Locate Me" link and see how accurate it is. I'm at work and it pegged me in Chicago. That's sort of close but we're actually up west of Milwaukee, WI.

It's very accurate though when you're using a wireless connection. Not very accurate with a desktop.

Competition's a good thing. In the case of maps, Google had clearly raised the bar and now some of their biggest competitors (Yahoo and Microsoft) have both responded in kind. Neither of their new offerings are perfect and both are still in beta. But they're definitely much stronger competitors once again. I like the overlay options on Yahoo's and the fact that Microsofts had some of the 'newer' streets around me correct that Google still doesn't show yet.

HOLY CRAP. Just checked TaskManager... this thing pushed Firefox to use 1,183,764 MB of RAM. I'm sure there's enough fault to go around between FF and MS, but wow.

NOTE: I just noticed that if I leave the browser completely idle it seems to jump a meg every 20 seconds or so. I've got 2GB of RAM, by the way.
