Updated Google Earth a day ago on my Nexus 7. Just now tried it for the first time. Now it no longer can use GPS location, so you can't track/pinpoint your location when offline. A serious flaw in a Wi-Fi-only device.
THe only Location option in the settings is "Google's location service".
i.e. you have to inform Google of your whereabouts - which I refuse.
I tried Maps for the first time - it still uses GPS - why would they hamstring Earth?
