Last night I got calls from two of the people who frequently call me for tech support. They said they couldn't get google to load. So, I loaded up google on my computer without a problem and tried to troubleshoot their end. Both of them had access to any other page that I asked them to load (like dailytech.com and cisco.com), but couldn't get to google.com. Anyway, I just told them to wait it out for a while and see if it was a google or charter cable issue.

Today I got on to the computer and was unable to access google.com for about 15 min and then suddenly I was able to again. Could there something going on with charter or google that might be causing this? I'm kinda baffled that it would be happening to all of us and all on charter cable - and it not be a problem of theirs. I have not called them though, since it seems to work here and there.

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks a ton!

We're having this issue with some of our dialup users.

Yesterday, AT&T had a router outage that affected nearly all of California for us. Today, it looks like they're having another outage, albeit smaller, that's also affecting us. Users on our dialup network cannot access Google and several bank websites.

Probably not much you can do about it.

Thanks for the help guys =) That sounds like it was my problem.

Kinda funny though - when mine went out my first thought was "how am I going to search for a solution if google is down?" I guess we get pretty set in our patterns...

I'm in the St. Louis area and just got Charter cable installed. I'm having a very similar problem (except in STL instead of SoCal): google/maps/gmail will occasionally load while everything else is fine. Figured that it is not my router, and probably not google as I have no problem accessing it on a different internet connection.

I had a problem all day yesterday where I could get on google and some sites but most would not load or just not load pics and vids, It was driving me nuts messing with modem + router then antivirus then previous restore point with none fixing, I gave up and the next day still was messed up until upluging modem and router again.

so my problem was comcast and i wasted time:(
