Woke up today and the phone said a system update had been installed and to restart it. But nothing happened. I think all other Pixels got an update today but not the 6 series. And some phones got confused.

P6 and P6 Pro updates will be pushed out later in the month is what Google said. Probably by the end of the month.

Is there a setting in the camera software that will not soften and blur everything around the center of the picture? My old G6 took way better pictures than this... I should be able to read all the lettering on the tire with clarity.

The blur is from the bigger sensor. Try using the zoom or back up more to get more clarity.

The phone did some kind of update when I restarted it last night but the version is still the same. Took a little while to do the 0-100% thing so not a small update. Maybe a security update or something.

Went to sell my Verizon p6pro and when i got it all ready to sell and take photos, I see like a black splotch on the screen that won't wipe off. It's between the glass and the screen! I can't sell this thing. You can see it with the screen on it's just not as noticeable. I'm like I can't sell this in this condition in good faith.

Did some Googling and this is a known issue. Anyway, after waiting online for an hour for Google Chat support, they had me send a couple photos, then quickly said I was welcome to go to a ubreakifixit place for a warranty repair or I could mail it to Google. I can be at one in the West Village in Manhattan in no time so I'll go there this week, get a new screen on it, and then sell it on Swappa. Their QC is suspect but at least they'll cover it.

Signal seems to be better in my apartment although 5g speed is like 80mb down max.

Maps for some reason is really laggy and only renders at 60hz. For example looking for a place to eat and scrolling through restaurants.

Auto rotate seems to be fixed.

Tap to wake finally works!

Fingerprint sensor feels better.

Will see about battery life on standby tomorrow and deep sleep with screen off time.

Small sample size but my phone today has been super good with deep sleep. Battery usage with screen off has been .3% an hour - obviously I'm not streaming music or anything during that time. Never been that low since I had this phone.

Where are you seeing that ?

I used to use accubattery pro but it was draining my battery pretty badly so I uninstalled it and I am using better battery stats from xda forums.

I'm not understanding what awake screen off means here but I'm also wondering what could be causing that. I don't really have any apps installed aside from the Google ones, a few banking apps, and a smarthome app for my apartment.

I'm using accubattery pro to check deep sleep and battery usage with screen off

I have GSam battery monitor too but never used that with this phone

Yea my screen off with accubattery pro when I had it installed was always 2-2.8% an hour but I also use always on display.

I'm still waiting to see what the S22 ultra looks like and how it will do with battery life. Pretty sure it may be better than this phone.

Users on reddit are reporting Android Auto disconnects and BT issues. I've used both yesterday and today without issues.

Battery life has been about the same.

Im curious about the random cell signal timeouts, ill test when im at work on Tuesday.

My screen off and deep sleep battery life continues to be better than before. Not .3% an hour good, but noticeably better than pre update.

Today I was at the office working and usually that's the most time i'm only on 5G connectivity. I only had 1 timeout verses about 2-3 on average. I usually repair the connection or turn it off and on until it connects again. It's improved but still needs to be a little better IMO

Still no update on T-mo. Fingerprint reader is still sucky.

You been manually checking for an update? I haven't seen people on the Pixel subreddits or AC forums complaining about not getting the update anymore. That is strange.

May have to sideload it.

Things have been pretty rock solid with this GoogleFi 6 Pro for me. Just once the FPS got finicky and I had to use a pin. It was in direct sunlight so I got concerned. I did some tests in very bright direct sunlight other days and it worked perfectly. Really not sure what threw it off there.

How do you manually check since it comes from T-mo? I think you need to be careful with the updates since the different carriers have different antennas for their bands. Maybe that's why T-mo hasn't updated yet.

Go to settings, system, system update, check for update

Your aren't forcing anything, you are just telling the phone to check for an approved update

Side loading would be forcing the update. Having the phone check is perfectly safe
