This is not healthy. I have been ignoring the symptoms of chronic depression for far too long, and been ignoring my emotional, social, and physical health. This forum has become a time sinkhole and a way for me to blind myself to the reality of those aspects. I am not blaming this forum or anyone on it; rather, I am recognizing my own weakness and propensity for addiction and avoidance, and realizing that I need to face that weakness and devote myself to overcoming it. I am taking steps to face that weakness; this is one of them.

ugh, someone shoot me in the face please!

wow, you are like, so cool for going against the grain and trying to be a tough guy.

zakath is one of my personal friends and quite frankly, you can go fvck yourself with a stop sign, troll.

I don't know why, but the mental image that created ... well, can be described as "grisly, yet sickeningly hilarious" :D

This reminds me of that thread awhile back when we related ATOT to Everquest. Except the graphics on ATOT aren't as good.

But with the recent forum developments, it's obvious that this is changing.

i was thinking this for a while too.

i'm spending tooo much time reading atot. the past 2 weeks, i've been going to bed later and later. i now only get 5hrs sleep (vs 6-7 before). it's like i dont want to leave the computer. after i've opened a zillion windows on different threads, and reading them and closing them, i go back to atot and read the new stuff that was just posted. and the vicious cycle starts over again.

but throwing away the computer or canceling internet is not an option for me.

I'm addicted! i need ATOT anonymous!

oh god..this is a perfect example of this..i'm suppose to be somewhere 20 min ago :( lost track of time w/this thread. arrg!!!

I have a tip for you: Get a girlfriend! My participation on this board (and all boards) was dramatically decreased afterwards. ;)

Good luck. I had Mild Depression and got over it with the help of a counselor and medicine for a year. It got rid of it for about a year and a half but now I've noticed that I've become more depressed. The only thing is until you have a car and you can drive alone there isn't much to do walking here in Escondido. So I sit here in front of my computer at home and at school reading and trying to contribute to ATOT. When I can drive a car WITHOUT parents I too will say good-bye to ATOT and hello to the real world. I'll get a productive job and try and hang out with friends from school more often. 6 months to go until I say goodbye.

When you stopped going to the gym, did you post a note on the bulletin board?

*hugs Nate*

I would be sad but I've got your phone number, your AIM name, and I know where you live! And you'd better believe that we're gonna find other stuff to do with your time when I move to Seattle in August.

Having just taken a 40 day voluntary haitus from AT, it is possible to leave under willpower (you just have to move all your links so you don't hit them automatically, and change your start page). And boy did I get a heck of a lot more done. :D
