Why not just cut em off and put them in a mason jar for her... ?

yup... its one thing to scale back your playing, quite another to let her dictate your life and "perusade" you into thinking you are doing this on your own.

Yup, surrender mancard and leave....now

i am addicted to CS:S but i sure as hell will drop it whenever my girl wants me over normally cuz that means action.

FPS addiction is MUCH more mild than MMORPG addiction.

really just look at what you wrote there. you chose to "fulfill your duties" to some online people you probably have never and will never meet at the expense of your real life relationship.

Do what a good friend of mine did, he bought the game for her birthday and she now plays all the time. She's at least at level 30 or 40.

The important question is..... DID YOU FINISH THE INSTANCE?! That would've sucked horribly if the priest of all people left the party on a high level instance (a good 6+ hours).

That being said, I know exactly how you feel. I used to play it from morning wake to till I feel asleep too tired from playing anymore. Then I forced myself to give it up, will not install it ever again, and got a job.

I still miss it greatly though. =\ So many great memories and good times. =(

I hate those damn games, my parents divorced because of evercrack. If my boyfriend was playing any those games I would break up with him, after alot of warnings, but I would. It sounds strange to blame a game for so much but I seriously think those types of games can ruin people (for a period of time) and their relationships.

So from a girl's perspective: those things are a complete turn-off.

Don't blame the game, blame the person

Just being honest, if you want to get some by impressing a girl with your 'WoW skills,' it isn't going to work.

See, I know how to deal with my woman.

Aside from WOW, i've always spent most if not all of my time on the computer, and she's realized that its going to take something like constant sex to change that (and she's not willing to do that).

So, once WOW came along, I've spent about hte same amount of time on the computer, but its just gotten harder to take me away for small periods of time for things like dinner cooking, trash taking out of and other household duties.

Now, the answer was that I got HER hooked on WOW too. Now, I know what you're thinking, trash probably built up to my pre-relationship levels, but it didn't as I forbid there to be another copy of WOW to be purchased, so we shared an account.

To summerize, we take turns playing and doing the other things, and set aside at least an hour a day to eat dinner together and sit/cuddle on the couch watching tv. We're both pretty hpapy with the arrangements until we get into arguments about who's played too much, but thats a story for another day.

Wasn't trying to impress her or anything.... I even tried to play the game as little as possible. It just didnt work... the game requires too much time, and so does the gf. There is an inevitable conflict there. I'm going to swear off the games for a while....

well until Elder Scrolls IV comes out :)

holy crap.

it's normal for a chick to complain about too much video game playing, but to cite other things besides herself that you need to be doing with your time?

You would break up with your boyfriend because he plays games and does not spend 100% of his waking hours thinking of you? There is nothing wrong with moderation. A couple of hours a night is not a problem.

WOW is a shiit game, not gameplay wise but time wise. It takes up too much time and is not that fun. I salute you for deleting that piece of shiit game off your pc. I dont understand why they make the these mmropg so slow paced its like having two lives. I myself play l2 on a private server. It is fast paced but not to the extent where it ruins the game. Cant wait for guild wars, no more monthly fees, just exspanions.

That's weak. It's fine if you moderate it and spend time with the girl and still be able to play WoW, but when it just takes over your spare time like that... WEAKSAUCE.

Seriously though, you rather "fulfill your duties" than go out with your girlfriend?

does not follow from:

"If my boyfriend was playing any those games I would break up with him, after alot of warnings, but I would."

Look, I'm not going to argue with you, I know what I meant and I don't think I need to explain it to you.

Your Ears has a point. If your SO gives more attention to a game than you, something isn't right. It's understandable if the game just came out, but how long ago was that?
