I hate those damn games, my parents divorced because of evercrack. If my boyfriend was playing any those games I would break up with him, after alot of warnings, but I would. It sounds strange to blame a game for so much but I seriously think those types of games can ruin people (for a period of time) and their relationships.
So from a girl's perspective: those things are a complete turn-off.
I've got a feeling you will be really popular here.....
Not
Just being honest, if you want to get some by impressing a girl with your 'WoW skills,' it isn't going to work.
You would break up with your boyfriend because he plays games and does not spend 100% of his waking hours thinking of you? There is nothing wrong with moderation. A couple of hours a night is not a problem.
Read what I wrote again. Don't take things out of context.
"If my boyfriend was playing any those games I would break up with him, after alot of warnings, but I would."
"You would break up with your boyfriend because he plays games and does not spend 100% of his waking hours thinking of you?"
does not follow from:
"If my boyfriend was playing any those games I would break up with him, after alot of warnings, but I would."
Look, I'm not going to argue with you, I know what I meant and I don't think I need to explain it to you.

hmmm... I don't know here... I don't play World of Warcraft anymore, but its related more to the fact that I find the high end of the game to be boring, predictable, and all-too-easily defeatable to anyone who suffered (and I do mean suffered) through six years of EverQuest.
Your only problem is you lack the ability to say no to WoW when you want or need to... you seem to be incapable of incorporating WOW into part of your life without it taking you over as an addiction. By the way, I still have an active EQ, EQ2, & WOW account... I log maybe 20 hours a month across said games, but there are really only two kinds of MMORPG players:
The Hardcore, Unstoppable Powergamer: This is the person that absolutely has to conquer every challenge set before them in the game, regardless of the amount of time required. Some of these people can play 10 or 15 hours a week (or even less!) and accomplish this, others are barely capable of maintaining this level of play even if they play 70+ hours a week.
The Casual, Log-in-every-so-often Gamer: This person doesn't care nearly as much about levels or doing all the 'cool high-end stuff' or having all the 'leet gear' that the other group has. This person may play an hour a day, or may play five hours a day, but only in spurts, hardly ever for a period longer than a month or so... and certainly with no long-term dedication.
I used to be The Hardcore, Unstoppable Powergame - averaging about 12 to 20 hours a week in EQ (which still left more than enough time to do other stuff, but I found too limiting after awhile). However, when I got WOW, I slowly turned into The Casual, Log-in-every-so-often Gamer, however, WoW is so laughably easy to conquer to a veteran MMORPGer that I gave away the remaining 6 months on my account to my guildmate and log in only to say hi.

So I've been playing WoW since the day after it's release. I average about 2 hours per night. In the beginning this was more like 4 hours a night, with occasional much longer days. Well the GF fvcking hates that I play... she thinks of it as mind-rot at it's worst. My feeling up til now has been screw you, I'm an adult, I should be able to spend my free time however the hell I choose. Well tonight we got into a massive argument about it, as I was mid-instance when she called and said come down and see me. I choose not to go, but instead to fulfill my duties (troll priest) and get my group through the rest of the instance.
Well the massive argument ensues, during which she actually succeeds in convincing me that I play way too much, and I haven't been doing anything with my spare time OTHER than WoW, and I really havent been involved with other stuff. I've been meaning to play Rugby, but havent put the time forward to do it. I haven't been taking my tech cert exams. I haven't been doing the extra work at home I used to do. WoW truly was taking over too much of my life. So blam I delete the installation off the PC, with the intention of never putting it back.
What are some of your opinions on the WoW phenomenon, is it indeed an unhealthy obsession? Or am I pussywhipped, and allowing my interests to be manipulated?
Flame away....
