Goodbye sweet kitty

I hurt so much right now. She was one of my best friends. One day shes pouncing around the house as usual then next she's barely walking, vomiting all over, and so lethargic she can barely do anything other then sleep.

There's no way to ever know what caused her kidneys to fail at such a young age. ~5 She was even an indoor cat.

I went to the vet on my lunch break where I sat with her while they put her to sleep.

There are not enough sad faces to express my emotions.

I'm sorry to hear that dude :^(

I had to put my cat down a few years ago. She was my best friend for 16 years. I cried :'^(

i feel your pain, my gf and i just lost one of her cats of 10 years. one night were playing with her and shes jumping onto the roof and seems totally vibrant... the next day at lunch i find her dead, her final act was trying to get into the house of our other cat to lay down with it 🙁

we were both really broken up about it, i didnt realize how much of a place she held in our little "family"

car antifreeze? ethylene glycol or some derivitive?

sounds like a condition when an animal eats antifreeze.

sorry to hear your loss tho, i was worried about the same thing with my dog so i stopped using antifreeze in my h2o systems.

My cat died of renal failure (kidney) last year and I felt more heartbroken than when family members have died.

What brand of catfood were you feeding it?

The only idea I have is we did have a new sink put in the bathroom. Now, I don't know what sort of glue/chemicals the guy used as I wasn't home for it. She had a habit of drinking out of the toilet/sink/bathtub. I could never get her to stop doing it. That was on Thursday of last week and she started acting a little odd Saturday night. I'd rather let it go though. Nothing will bring her back to me.

Yeah I can't remember a time when I felt this badly.

IAMS adult cat food. Orange bag.

Same exact symptoms that happened to my cat. She was only about 7 years old, was in great shape, then one day she's vomiting like crazy and won't eat. Took her to the vet and she was put to sleep in just a few days. There has been a rash of these the past year or two and it has led me to suspect that there is tainted cat food based upon the scandal from the last couple years where catfood manufacturers were buying protein that was doped with a chemical to fool the protein tests (coming out of China, the same chemical used in the baby powdered milk scandal).

Save the bag of cat food and take it to the vet to see if they can test it.

I thought about that too. I also would give her tuna flavored pounce treats. If its the food/treats, I will be fucking pissed.

When my cat died, after the sadness had left me, I felt enraged at the possibility of contaminated food. My cat was perfectly healthy, jumping around, playful, then just one day so sick she couldn't stand up straight. I couldn't believe it, I was in shock, and I ended up calling into work for 3 days. I wish I had saved the bag of cat food that we had fed her to test for contaminated levels of toxin.

If you look at the number of cases of contaminated pet food over the last 2 years, it seems to me that it has been on a dramatic increase.
