So sorry to hear about your loss. I don't know any words that will make you feel any better at a time like this. These animals depend on us for everything and the love they return is priceless.
 
Long ago one of my moms cats had to be put down pretty suddenly, wasn't young but wasn't exactly old either. She was a pretty pissy cat, would hiss and growl at me on the regular (not all the time but a lot) her last day she started to breath hard. We knew something was wrong. I brought her some wet cat food and milk. She pawed at me, but not in her usual bitchy way. She was very peaceful that morning and affectionate to me Even. As much as she always growled at me I knew that was just her personality. Was very sad to see her go. condolences to you op.

I hate how the best pets are lucky to make it 20 years, but you can have a boring turtle or something that lives longer than you. I grew up with a lot of cats so I'm a cat lover. Very cute picture op.


 
Ah man that sucks. 🙁 Had something similar to a cat of mine a few years ago. She was running around playing one day and the next day we had to put her to sleep. 🙁

You have my deepest sympathy and sincerest wishes that she will always have a place in your heart. We lost a ~3 month old kitten to FIP, it was the hardest thing I've ever experienced with a pet.

What a beautiful cat. She must have had a special place for you in her heart. When you're ready, perhaps another cat will be lucky enough to adopt you.

I read some stuff about people feeding their pets Iams, please stop, it's an inhumane company, I used to be a total Iams advocate, and some research opened my eyes. I feed only by-product free foods to my cats now, please, I won't post the gory details here, but Iams is a bad company. If you love animals, please do some research, and fyi, it's very, very disturbing.

To be honest I'm surprised nobody has started a class action lawsuit against Iams yet. A lot of pets have gotten sick and died from their food and they need to step up their quality control.

Don't worry. None of my future animals will get anything made by that company. I can't be sure it was the food that caused her kidneys to fail but after researching the company, fuck IAMS. I don't care how much they say they've changed. I will be informing everyone I know as well.

Felidae crunchies and Eagle Pack holistic for canned food. They love them both, but if you go that route and they're used to Iams or Purina, you need to gradually switch them over. Do you live in the Boston area?
