Project Octopath Traveler looks legit. I love the art style. I wasn't that into the Switch at launch since as great as BOTW is it's still only one game, but seeing Super Mario Odyssey plus Bayonetta 2 and now Project Octopath Traveler is really making the Switch look enticing.

Super Mario Odyssey looks interesting, but I have to admit that all the hidden moons kind of turned me off a bit. I think we've just had far too much "find all the hidden objects" in games like Assassin's Creed.

Octopath Traveler... I don't know what to think about that either. They showed a lot about active skills and how you can use them to manipulate the world, which seems interesting (and maybe more importantly, different), but it does mean that the game will need some well-crafted puzzles or else it will just get boring. I'm not the biggest fan of the art style. It just stands out, and I'm not sure if that's in a good way. Why not just use the nice hand-drawn art style from the SaGa Frontier games?

Mario Odyssey is looking really good, here's a new video from yesterday.

That Seaside Kingdom level looks incredible.

Also at the end of that video they have a Mario Odyssey version of the Switch coming out it looks like. No price on the video though.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow that looks incredible!! Found a copy to embed:

Super Mario Odyssey (and the special edition Switch) will be available from 27 October.

Includes the Switch with custom red joy-cons, the switch, a downloadable copy of Super Mario Odyssey, and a special-edition carrying case. Think I'm gonna have to bite, this looks amazing!

Damn if I didn't have a switch already I'd get that for sure. A carrying case is the only accessory I bought so that would have been perfect.

You could probably flip yours pretty quick and just a pay a nominal fee for the bundle.
Yah I don't want/need it that bad. But if I didn't have one I'd wait for that one for sure.

Plus I don't even know if they have anyway to transfer games or saved games from one Switch to another.

I think I remember someone on here saying that they had 2 and could not transfer stuff.

I thought it was a known issue, especially when it came to some of the original ones needing replaced. Basically, the apps and saves are tied to a device and can't be transferred. You have to download games again even if they are on an existing memory card.

Which is stupid and hopefully they fix soon, because while purchases were tied to systems with the Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo did have a process for transferring those purchases to a new system.

I just wonder why this is even an issue at all. It's 2017 and USB is ubiquitous.

It's even more confusing because it also supports microSD, but for some reason the console (as of right now) can't store saves on the SD card. Rumors have swirled around that they're playing with cloud save backup so that you can at least get your saves back if you're network connected, but it seems silly if they don't find a local way to accomplish the same thing.

lol, they just swapped the blue neon joycon for another red one and included a download code before calling it a day. Color me underwhelmed but I long for the days when buying a Nintendo system with a game saved you money. The least they could do is kick in the cheap carrying bag for free! ffs lol.

Next week, a new Picross game comes out for the Switch. I'll finally have a second game.

There's been a number of smaller games that have been coming out that are really good. Steamworld Dig 2 just came out yesterday, and everyone seems to like it. The first one was great (can't remember if I got it free with PS+ or got it on sale, but it was still good). I'll probably get picross as well, depending on how much it is. I need some eshop cards to go on sale again. Gamestop had a sale when I first bought the switch which was a free $10 if you bought $50. Not a stellar discount, but if you're going to be buying a few digital games anyway you might as well get some free ones.

Never heard of Steamworld Dig but damn the videos for part 2 look pretty damn neat, I might have to get that game. I've definitely been having fun with some of the eShop games on Switch. The Switch is also perfect for when flying, makes the time go by so much faster.

Yeah, it's a really slick little system for portable gaming. The thought of playing full fledged games on the go is great, and the type of thing that Nintendo needed to pull off to set them apart from the other consoles. We have a long flight coming up, so I bought a big ass power bank for the trip. We'll see how split screen mario kart works on a 6" screen

I actually played split screen SMK8 with my buddy on my last flight. It worked fine but the controllers are just fucking tiny. I definitely felt handicapped playing it, but I mean we were just screwing around not playing serious or anything.

Then a dude 3 rows in front of us had a seizure and that kind of took our attention away from the game for a while...
