but but but Zerocool that is why you have a smartphone. :colbert:

(I agree with you 100% and I expect a second pro controller eventually like we saw with the Xbone).
I just don't know what Nintendo expected with headphones when docked. I don't want to have to use portable mode just for headphones.

I am thinking that the original Wii and DS were peak Nintendo, and after that, Apple ate their lunch.

I wonder why they don't sell themselves to Apple. It would be a good fit.

Nintendo needs to release a demo of 1-2 Switch on the eShop or something free to show off the capabilities of the new controllers, it could entice them to buy 1-2 Switch or other games that show off the Joycon capabilities.

Yes! I would love the count the balls demo but I don't want to pay even $40 for it.

I honestly kinda get why they didn't- they didn't want to even get CLOSE to 4K or the expectations that come with it in the gaming community. Makes sense when it can't run Zelda at 1080p perfectly.

And I agree, Ultra Street Fighter II for $40 is nuts. Pocket Rumble will be $10 and will also be a console exclusive for Nintendo if someone wants a retro fighter. The Joycons as is aren't really great for a fighting game away.

Actually looking at it is seems that the lineup is full of overpriced games trading on nostalgia alone. Not only USF2, but Bomberman for the Switch is $50! and only runs at 30 fps. 1 2 Switch is also $50 party game like the Wii's Wii Play, except Wii Play was $80 with a then hard to find Wiimote. I am not buying any of this overpriced crap, not when NEW and complete games I want to play like Snipperclips and Has-Been-Heroes are $20 each.
The Switch is just so damn expensive when you factor in all the stuff you need to buy for the full experience.

Using that same site, if I want to get a Switch, it looks like I'd be best off going to a specific Walmart in my area. The one near me got 7 (5 black, 2 blue/red), and the one near my mom (on the other side of town) got 35 (25 black, 10 blue/red).

purbeast0 - here is the brickseek data to see how many pro controllers the local Walmart got:

Damn thanks. Is that pretty accurate? The one by my job has 11 in stock and the one that is closest to my house (but completely out of the way with regards of getting to work) has 20. They both open at 6am so I wonder if I got there at 6am or slightly after if I could actually snag one then just head to work.

Is that a live inventory? Like if I check at 6:15 tomorrow morning and some have sold it will show the lower number?

EDIT:

The one by my job is only getting 7 Switches so maybe the fact they will have more controllers is good, because who will buy a controller if they don't get a console (just like I am lol, so I'm sure i'm not the only one in this position).

The fact of the matter is they are not overpriced or else they would not be sold out everywhere lol. I don't think you all know what overpriced means!

Does amazon give you 20% off on preordering video game accessories like the pro controller too?

Overpriced yes. It is also low quantity. The problem is that since the joycons are utterly useless and poorly designed you need one for using the dock. I think Nintendo knows this hence the price for the pro controller.

They are probably sold out because of launch hype and typical Nintendo low inventory. PS3 sold out at launch...I guess you can argue at the time it wasn't overpriced, but eventually Sony had to redesign it and drop the price because Xbox 360 was eating their lunch.

So it will be interesting to see if the Pro controller is still the same price, and still selling well in a year. Of course, the Pro controller sales will be contingent on Switch sales, and who knows if it will even be selling well in a year.

Nintendo makes a handheld and calls it a console -Calgacus 84 AD

Man, I had just about turned around on the price and lack of games, but the crap reviews nipped trading in my wii u in the bud. I'll just get zelda for the Wii U

This is exactly why I said I'm getting a large SD card weeks ago because you never know what Nintendo is going to do until they actually do it.

Calling it now- we will be able to search by user Id but only in the smartphone app.

Anyone else doing a midnight release?

The only way I may do it is if I call Game Stop after work and they tell me they have like 20 pro controllers, and I drive there around 11:30 and there is like a line of 15 people. Otherwise I'm not and will maybe try to go to Walmart in the AM before work.

Yeah I am going at midnight for the poster.

As of right not, unless you have already played with someone or are in the same game with them, you have to use Friend Codes to add someone. Seriously Nintendo what the hell. They already said no more friend codes.

Glad I didn't order 1-2 Switch, it just didn't look fun to me

The problem with 1-2-Switch in general is the inconsistency in minigames. It’s not just that some minigames use the Joy-Con controllers better than others, but some of the titles just don’t make sense at all. There are 28 minigames in 1-2-Switch, and only a handful of them are actually fun. For example, Treasure Chest is the best minigame in 1-2-Switch because it perfectly understands what it’s trying to accomplish and the controls are simple enough for players to understand.

Them charging for 1-2 Switch was a terrible idea. I don't see how anyone can watch videos of that game and want to purchase it for $50. Like WTF.
