sorry for your loss. :rose:
I know how it feels. my dad died last year.

at least he's no longer suffering

I am very sorry for your loss. I have been following along, but did not know the time was so near and far too soon. "Please, Thank you, and Love you". That is a wonderful legacy.

Be glad you got to spend as much time with your dad as you did.

My dad got a stroke alone at the house while I was off to college and my mother was at work. Today he can't do much on his own... his consciousness (or that which I grew up with) is gone. All the things I wanted including teaching me home improvement/maintanance, surviving and thriving in my career, and all those other important aspects were instantly stripped away from me. Somehow I live on, always remembering the importance of everything he taught me. Just wish I had more time....

That said... (and this applies to everyone). Be REALLY fucking happy you get to spend the time you do. I didn't even get to make it into the transition of adulthood with my father... which is probably one of the most crucial things in life. Cherish every second.

So sorry for your loss, Exterous. My very best wishes for you, and your family, as you work your way through this loss.

I lost my dad about a month after 9-11, after a 3 year fight against cancer, that started in his lung. We just lost Mom this past October, and though we were all saddened by the loss, at least she's at peace now. 🙂

Sorry to hear about the loss, it's never easy, but I'm glad the two of you were able to develop what sounds like a wonderful relationship and he'll live on through you in that regard.

My Condolences.

The wife had one of her closest childhood friends pass today from cancer, she seems to be taking it well as he was in a lot of pain for awhile now, sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy, but it sounds like he, and you, made the most of the time that was left...I can only hope I will be able to do the same

Sorry for your loss, my condolences. 🙁

Lost an Uncle too, stage 3 pancreatic cancer, gone in 5 months 3 years ago. 74 years old. Same with a family friend about 6 1/2 years ago. But it was diagnosed late, he only lived after 3 months. 62 years old..

So sorry to hear that. You have my deepest sympathies.

My wife's Mom passed away a few weeks ago from Ovarian cancer. It was so sudden, caught us all off guard. :'(

So sorry for your loss Exterous. My father is a nice man but due to circumstances out of both of our control, I grew up through my teenage years without him. As such, we aren't all that close. This thread is a good reminder that I shouldn't wait for such a catastrophic event to bring me closer to him.
