OP fails at photography.

Agreed, if she is trying to get a modeling gig or something with these pictures she's better off not even applying, it would give a bad impression. Tell her to invest in a decent camera (You can get a Nikon D40 kit at target for under $300 on clearance). You can take her pictures with a good camera at least. Then you can work on the lighting and everything else.

pics were taken with a d60. The pic you see was taken in VERY low light in a ballroom that we snuck into. Not to mention, her face was cropped out of a huge photo. The pic in the OP is like only 5% of the original pic, at most. And yes, I had the ISO way up for the lighting..

Not much point bumping the ISO if you're using a flash.

All I can say is that more than half of people in this thread fail to read at least the OP before replying.

Look at the picture he posted, he's quite obviously using the on-board flash.

They clicked on the pic first, then ignored everything else.

Does the D60 support wireless flash? Folks have already mentioned the SB600 which has wireless capabilities. Moving the flash off camera made the single biggest improvement I have achieved in my photographic attempts.

The D60 does support wireless.

By the look of things you're better off trowing those pics away, taking a camera course and trying again.

There is nothing that will make those picture palatable to her or anybody for that matter.

Good luck.

doh, point.

However it's still blurry enough that I'm guessing he was too far away for it to be really effective...if he dropped the ISO down a couple stops, the shutter speed would be way longer than it already was.
