Good Watercooling pump ?

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for a watercooling pump that has really good flow but isnt to expensive. My pump i think just isnt adequate anymore. Maybe recomend a good radiator also. My temps on my E8400 are just to high and i think my pump just doesnt have enough flow to keep them down and same for my radiator.

What i currently have is an Eheim 1048 pump and a black ice extreme from dangerden which originally i got for my athlon xp like 7 years ago lol. My waterblock i think is fine because it may be old but its still a copper block and its making exllect pressure and contact, but the pump/rad isnt because during orthos the block and tubes are pretty warm to the touch, obviously showing me the block is taking heat from the cpu but the radiator just isnt able to keep up with the heatload.

I am upstairs vs being downstairs now so my ambiant room temp has got to be at least 10-15F warmer. So obviously my temps are higher then they were back then, i am still able to reach 4400mhz i ran a bunch of vantage tests last nite with my 4890. The tubes were just way to warm i could feal the heat comming from the radiator being blow out.

Im thinking maybe i should get a eheim 1250 which has 2x more waterflow then my current model (317GPH, vs 158GPH) but its $120. As for radiator's im not sure really. Size doesnt really matter because i keep my pump and radiator outside the case. I only W/C my cpu btw not the GPU/

Swiftech MCP355 with XSPC top for pump.
What's your budget for a radiator? A Swiftech MCR220/320 is budget or XSPC RX240/360 and TFC Xchanger 240//360 are top of the line.

I have 2 of these on my system, their great and adjustable.

Swiftech MCP655? Series 12 VDC Water Pumps
Starting at: $64.95 at performancePC.com

Product Details:
The MCP655? pump is a high reliability, high pressure industrial pump, featuring a 50,000 hour MTBF (5 year lifetime). Such reliability is afforded by the unique design of this pump, which contains only one moving part: the magnetically driven spherical impeller spins on a single ceramic bearing, thus extending the life of this pump beyond existing standards.
The pump is completely plug-and-play, and connects directly to the computer power-supply with a standard 4 pin power connectors. It's compact design, quiet and powerful motor make it ideally suited for heavy duty cooling in environments where space is at a premium.

The MCP655 is available in two versions:

With a speed controller (part # MCP655)
Without speed controller (part # MCP655-B)
Summary of benefits
50,000 hours MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) equivalent to 5 years lifetime.
Superior 12 Volts DC convenience: plugs into the computer power supply
The MCP655? can be used with full confidence in any MP servers, and high-end workstations.
Superior real world performance
High pressure capability of the MCP655? is particularly well adapted to high-flow systems using 1/2" ID tubing
Pump speed can be adjusted to yield top performance or virtually silent operations (model MCP655 only)

Compact Design.
Quiet operations even at high speed thanks to new chipset controller
½" Barb fittings.
No maintenance when used with de-mineralized water, and anti-fungal additives (Our HydrX? additive is recommended)
Quick installation with adhesive neoprene pad, or permanent installation with thru-bolts.

Retention Mechanism
The MCP655? can either be installed with the built-in neoprene pad featuring a peel-off adhesive back, or permanently with thru-bolts as shown below.

Yea i was looking at that Swiftec 655, the flow is 317GPH which is double that of my current pump, and it seem pretty cheap. My current radiator is this onehttp://www.dangerden.com/store...ductid=1&cat=85&page=1, i built a shroud and use 2 90mm fans. I just spent $200 on a 4890, so i really dont want to blow cash on upgrading this watercooling so probably $150 budget less is better tho

I was looking at these radiator's

I think this one might kinda be overkill tho

Thanks yea those are to expensive. Do you guys think the Swiftech radiator mentioned would be alot better then my current one? Obviously its a duel fan design vs my 1. Any fan recomendations ? There are so many 120mm fans on newegg

Yes. The Swiftechs are usually your best bet for budget (best performance:cost ratio). It would be a lot better than your BIX 120 radiator with the right fans. The 360 isn't really overkill if you ever plan on upgrading or if you want really good temperatures and you have the space.

As for fans, yate-loons are decent and cheap on jab-tech.com (3.50 each). I use Yate-Loon DS12H or M's (High/Medium) and undervolt them to 5 or 7v or use them on fan controllers.

ahhh my life is so much easier now that there's a lot of people who know enough about water to give good advice. 😀

^ so is this... however make sure you get the vario which is a little more expensive. The difference between the vario and non vario , is... duh Variability, however the vario can also go to setting 5, while the non vario is stuck on perm. 4.

Another vote for the MCP355. Darned good pump, very small footprint, can be silent with proper and easy mounting. With an XSPC or EK top, barb/fitting choice is limited only by what's on the market.

But either pump, as Aigomorla said, is an excellent choice and about the only two to pick from.....unless you want to get "Aigo crazy" and go find an Iwaki. 😉

hey.. im running 4 DDC's now.. 😛

skinnee has my iwaki for his skinnee test bench ver. 2.0
