Hornitos is good but not great. For the price its a good value, but the quality is not as good as something in the 40$ range. That said, Hornitos does pass my minimum bar for what constitutes a quality tequilia; you will enjoy sipping it, neat, at room temperature. I would recommend this tequilia if you are going to serve it to people that may want to mix it, or shoot it. If you and your friend are going to sip it, then go ahead and spend the extra 15$ and get a top shelf line.
Chinaco is good stuff.
I have had many silvers that taste better than the aged stuff.
BTW, I have had
Any certain reason you like the silvers better?
OK, Hornitos, being cheaper, will be something good to share with friends.Along with Cazadores.
anxi80, I wish they sold liquor at grocery stores here. And being in TN, we can't buy any from mail order stores either. I wonder if I bought one off ebay, if it'd make it through the mail though.
rstove02, thanks for the tip on Casa Noble. Looks like I'll have a little drive to get it by the bottle here in TN (can get it closer by the drink). The US distributor also distributes Cabo Wabo.
Montezuma tequila? Isn't that the cheapest you can buy?
try a silver first, save a bit of it to compare to an anejo. flavor will be more complex, but not necessarily 'better'. going between brands makes it all the more complicated. luckily, all the top shelf brands are really good so you can look forward to a lifetime of tasting.
