It's like a bunch of Short Stories on the subject all mashed together into a Movie. Not really believable on the whole, but each situation is believable and the Story just works in a powerful way.

Crash in a nutshell:

Fred: I am Fred. I am a white man yet I harbour absolutely not racial prejudice at all. I have many black friends and I even voted for Barack Obama.

Bill: Fred, I hate to tell you, but your house was robbed.

Fred: Goddamn those f*cking n*ggers. Hitler was right!

Arvind: Hey keep it down you white boys or GTFO out my 7-11.

I remember that movie, it was pretty good..isn't he a locksmith and the guys place was burgled and he assumed it was the locksmith because he was Mexican?

Yeah, it was a little heavy on the race card, but a good movie none the less.

That scene with the car was so dumb. There's not a chance in hell you would hesitate even for a split second to take the hand of someone while you were stuck under a burning wreck.

"im stuck under a burning car, but the guy who is trying to rescue me molested me once. I'm too scared to take his hand, so i'll just chance it in the flames. Fire never hurt anyone."

I thought the movie was overly dramatic.

I don't think you ever see the gun being loaded, but she did BUY him blanks.

I told you, I'm not interested in your so-called fixes. Got anything to say? Say it yourself. Don't make fun of other people by altering their statements, that's juvenile.

I agree, I'm sure a lot of ATOT people hate it because it's trendy to hate popular shit. I'm sure if it hadn't won an Oscar and wasn't even a popular film they'd mostly be going "OMG great movie!" but since it was so popular, successful and won an Oscar it's instantly crap.

I thought it was pretty good and had a couple scenes that were almost perfect.

Nah, it's just that people overreact when they feel wronged, even if it's vicariously through something as stupid as Crash winning best picture over their pick. Instead of saying "I didn't think it deserved best picture", they spew a bunch of profanity before proclaiming it the worst film ever made - as if Will Ferrell, Mike Myers and Adam Sandler don't exist. Even if you don't like it, there are aspects of filmmaking - directing, music, cinematography, editing - that are separate from the script and that an unbiased critic must give credit to. The script could be about a guy discovering a new brand of lawn fertilizer, if the film is well made it still deserves credit for that in the form of perhaps a 5-7/10 rating even if the plot makes it unwatchable for anyone without a lawn fetish.

Which is ungodly unbelievable because you can't just buy blanks at any gun shop and its terribly obvious to a complete gun noob that there is no round in the bullet.

Refer to my post above, this movie is terrible.

Imagine if Will Ferrell had been in Crash, that might have actually caused ATOT to implode lol.
