That movie gets me every motherfucking time. The two scenes from the movie- one where Thandie Newton gets rescued by the very policeman that molested her & the little girl getting shot...

Absolutely, absolutely powerful. (mentioned latter scene, spoiler) Turn up the volume, it's ALL about the soundtrack that narrates it.

I've seen many many movies in my life, but those two have to be one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen of all time... the sound track is absolutely beautiful too.

I as a fucking proud ass man, can't watch this without shedding a tear. Holy god damn.

My mouth dropped when the little girl was "shot." Honestly though, I didn't think the movie was THAT good. It had its moments, but it was too preachy about racism and stuff.

The messages were pretty heavy-handed but the movie was good. Dont think it should have won oscar for best picture though

Right, the movie as a whole is good, not epic like Shawshank. But those two segments of scenes just blows any scenes away in a short massive dose.

I was just thinking I should watch this again last night.. I remember being sooo pissed when the girl was shot. Not many movies can get that level of emotion out of me.

I don't think I cried though :p

I have a couple of friends that cant make it though the movie because of the racism and blatant disrespect that is shown in the movie for other people. I tell them that it all works out in the end but they get so angry by the movie by about 20 minutes in that they cant finish watching it. Their loss.

Couple of very powerful scenes. I loved that movie.

I liked Crash a whole lot both times I've watched it. I know a lot of people dislike it or have problems with it, but for me not too much. Some of the coincidences were a bit much, but I'll forgive those as minor imperfections. In terms of its statements I thought Crash was spot on. It's been a while since I've seen it but one scene that I thought was just excellent was when the guy was talking to his daughter who was hiding under the bed in fear. Just fantastic!

Great movie for sure. Certainly heavy handed with the Racism. Every Character is a caricature of a Racist from their particular Race/Religion/Creed, then they all end up confronting each other and ultimately themselves. It's like a bunch of Short Stories on the subject all mashed together into a Movie. Not really believable on the whole, but each situation is believable and the Story just works in a powerful way.

I gave Crash an 8. Solid film but not mindblowing. I also gave Shawshank an 8, fwiw... also a solid film but extremely overrated. Shawshank and Slumdog are good examples of how a story about hope can bias peoples' judgement.
