Yeah, the LSD (limited slip diff for the nefs) would have been a big plus. My biggest complaint was always the torque steer (and cramped headroom for a guy who's 6'2"). At the time though, I just didn't feel that the performance gains made up for the stiffer price tag (dealers were charging a premium for the Type R then while the GSR could be had for under MSRP), and I wanted the luxury of the leather package and the power glass sunroof.
As for thieves, all Integras are attractive to thieves. That's why I got the upgraded security with ignition kill (option that year). Saved my car from being stolen more than once, let me tell ya...

Actually the 1st generation Eclipse/Talon are the best handling FWD car. They have a stock HP of 205 and with a $5 (manual valve for the turbo) part you can boost that up to around 275HP and they are way faster than the Type R's.

the type-r was hardly a few thousand less than the gsr. they marked the gsr down and added a lot of extra options just to move them, i was able to grab one for under $20K. if i could have gotten a brand new type-r for under $25K, i would have. mind you, this is in the heart of southern california where the demand was quite high.
