I really don't buy a lot of luxury gifts for myself. I am still rocking a 32" CRT TV in my family room and modest accommodations. I like nice cars. My wife likes watches. I drink basic beer, my wife likes fruit juices.

I am hardly a rich guy, I acknowledge I am doing better than many. That said I also give back a lot more than some to many people above me financially.

if you really care about the dates. Even if you need to take up a collection among those others that have donated but are now confused where to send more money.

I give to humans too. Now more than ever due to this economy the animals are fighting a losing battle caused by humans.

At the time I was pretty poor, but I gave to www.10thlife.org. I even took the 2 hour drive and spent a day out there. They are gone now. They were on a cusp of a medical breakthrough for Feline terminal illness.

In the end, my efforts to report crimes against 'humans' here get me said to be just a busy body.

I worked for mortgage companies and then home builders for years. I have been on many 'habitats for humanity' that everyone claims they actually nailed down the roof or more. In reality most of these (except the media ones), they tell you to stand down. In one I was told to serve the salad. I did the job since I wasn't going to be an asshat and fight the 'mayor' on site.

My next job they had me more active like the first one.

What's the extent of your charity.

Per GDP or per capita you give less than any EU nation, i think you are just below Russia if i remember correctly.

In cash, yeah, but that's only cuz you like comparing to the EU in some cases but comparing to individual nations when it suits you, take the bottom 300 mil of EU nations and we still give 2x as much as you do.

But feel free to think whatever you like, it's the American way, facts are irrelevant in the name of ignora... i mean patriotism.

not really. It's just par for the course. I don't play golf, but I understand how we have a ton of lurkers that probably hate the junk those that want to defy me bring over giving some money away with no profit in it for the poster.

I am comfortable with myself and have pretty much disclosed everything in my life here since day one. At that time these same people made fun of how poor I was.

Yet now me doing it since my life has grown is now a problem. I posted about my Saturn a lot, everyone trashed it. My 240SX the same. Everyone crapping on it.

Get an M3. Post the same stuff, now I am some kind of troll.

Absolutely and i'm not entirely truthful when i say i don't give to charity at all, i do.

I give to the heart and lung foundation because i watched my grandmother (closest thing to a mother i ever had) suffocate because her lungs collapsed.

I think most people give to things that are close to their heart.

And just so everyone gets this, Alky is keeping all of the money raised for himself, because he's a fucking thief, always have been.

my mom almost died of lung cancer back in early 90s, my dad had a heart attack around the same time. I had to figure out how to pay for college and get through it. The college said they have to pay for it. Interestingly enough when I went back to college at 30 they told me I'd be required to contribute 30% of my previous year salary to my education costs. I told them if I had 30% to contribute to education, I probably would not be seeking degree programs. In the end I had to finance it on a credit card 🙁

I donate to those causes, but pink ribbon and the like get a ton of money already...no need to "repost" them.

I don't think the rest of the place will get your last sentence. They may think that's how I get my money.

If I wanted to steal, I could have been ordering up tires and wheels, computers and parts, and other things in the 80's when mail order fraud was king.
