Thanks for the TRL rundown.

You saved MTV from having to tell me.

Both the Evanescence and the Linkin Park albums are pretty solid IMHO. Not a huge fan of the rest though

Fleetwood Mac's new one rocks!

Why does everyone get flamed for liking 'popular music'? Who gives a sh!t if MTV plays it, if they like it, then what's wrong with that?

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
White Stripes - Elephant
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Counting Crows - Hard Candy

OK then, let's say you like a band before they hit the airwaves or MTV. You are a huge fan and you support them before they hit it big. Then they wind up being played on the radio and MTV ad naseum. Does that mean you should stop liking/supporting them?

I have gone through this with too many bands to count. I support the bands I like regardless of what others think.

Well, I don't really care for rap (except for that one "The Real Saddam" song ;)) or most pop. The only thing that you listed that I listen to occasionally is the Sum 41 album; it's ok, but it gets "old" quick (as most pop whatever music does). I like most Floyd albums, but DSOTM is probably my favorite, and the live PULSE album has many of my favorite songs from all of their albums. For some reason (maybe I'm just odd), although I like some songs from The Wall, I don't find the entire album enjoyable. The other album which I never seem to stop liking is Dream Theater's Images and Words.

Downward is heavenward and Give Up are two of my favorite albums of all time. The only complaint about the former is the production, the volume is so quiet on that record. I'm not sure if it was intentional as being artistic, but it didn't suit the mood of the record IMHO.

I just got hooked on The Postal Service the other day and it's a great CD, and I don't really like electronic music with beeps and whistles. And just turn the volume up really loud while listening to Hum. :)

Same reason that people who listen to "underground" music think they are better and cooler than people who listen to "popular" music.

Music is music. Doesnt matter how much it sells or doesn't. Just listen to what you want to listen to and don't hate on others choice of music.
