Acer laptops at are on the cheap & chintzy side that's for sure.... I've only worked on a couple of their pre-builts and they were okay just boring and generic.

Acer parts OTOH (A-Open included) are usually at least okay.

Yes sir. I wasn't at home but some volunteer place.

As bad as ESD can be...nuking the ENTIRE machine with it is just unnerving.
