This wouldnt be a big deal if I didn't plan on cutting during times that I'll be very active. Not only will I be keeping my regular work out schedule, but I'm in a competetive ultimate league that practices every wednesday with plyos on tuesday and games on thursday so I need my energy. Any suggestions on diet habits during this time? I'm going to need plenty of protein but will be hopefully doing about 1900 (my average is 2300) calories a day with little carbs. I hope to lose about 20lbs but really want to make sure I'm not tired\weak when I run and am active.

If you increase your fiber intake you can lose more weight without reducing your calories by too much. If the carbohydrates you eat are mostly whole grains, you should get enough fiber to keep you feeling full. Making your meals small meals (5-6 meals, of around 300 calories each) spread out evenly over the day, with balanced ratios of carbs/protein/fat, should keep you energized and keep you from being hungry. The "meals" can be snacks or nutritional/protein bars if you don't have time to sit down and eat (Clif bars are fairly good for this). Despite your low carb approach, I think eating a lot of fruits and vegetables can be a boon to your diet, and make excellent pre- or post-activity snacks. Also, depending on how much you weigh and how much calories you are burning by working out, 1,900 calories/day may not be enough to keep you from being hungry. Is there a timetable in which you want to lose 20 lbs?

I have plenty of time since I'm not caring about doing this during my league play. I was going to build a diet plan out and give myself lots of time to get it taken care of. I've done it before, just never during a time where i've needed the energy for something other then simply working out.

how much do you weigh now? 2300 calories for someone who is active and actively works out seems pretty damn low.

I probably eat ~ 2k calories a day and I train 8-9x a week. It depends on if you can manage with getting away with it. I eat quite a lot of fruit to get my fibre. But I'm also hungry like a mofo at times...:( The joys of keeping my weight steady for WeightLifting competitions :p

Cutting tips:
Add up the amount of carbs your eating. You should aim for less then 100g a day at the VERY TOP. Cut down to about 60-80g and now we're talking. Cut down further to 40g and you are low carbing pretty hardcore.

Eat more SWEET POTATOS. They are only ~ 5% sugar in it, which is deal if your low carbing:

Sweet potato with tuna mayo is a good meal.

AVOID BREAD LIKE THE PLAGUE. Each piece of toast has 18-19g of SUGAR in it!

Eat smaller portion meals every 3hrs

My eating schedule reads like this:
Breakfast: oats with milk + apple (40 calories) (avoid fruit juice that are from concentrate, too much in the way of sugar, stick to water)
Snack: Pear
11:30: sweet potato with tuna and light mayo + fruit + water [serves as a pre training meal]

12-1 train

Lunch: half a subway or bit of pasta with chicken and sauce + apple/ fruit

4:30: other half of subway or [pasta with chicken, spinach and pesto] [bit of rice, chicken, pesto, spinach] + fruit

6-9: train

dinner: [some rice, egg, chicken], [takeaway, parents own a Chinese] could go with the sweet potatoe and tuna again, BEST value meal imo

I eat dinner pretty late because I finish training late. That isn't ideal but f0ck it. My weight is good and I'm prett lean.

Drink LOTS OF WATER :)
