So I'm leaving tomorrow for NYC, and I?ll be there for a week. I?ll have a little time off to see the sites, but what would you all recommend I check out? Any restaurants, stores, sites, etc?

P.S. I?m from Northern MI ? Am I going to die in NY traffic?

Be prepared for cavity searches if you plan on taking that through any of the tunnels.

Seriously, are you planning on driving that thing around every day as you means of transport, or is it just going to sit in a lot once you're there?

I don't think you'll be able to find a lot in Manhattan that will take a passenger van and trailer, and if you do, the trailer sure as hell won't be there when you get back to it.

holland tunnel...you might want to stop at newport centre mall before entering NYC. that mall has four floors and it contains a movie theater.

It will just be our means on getting there. The place we're staying said they have room for us to leave it there all week. I'll try to get them to use the subway I guess? but ... Will I die on the subway too?

Ditch the trailer. You are not going to get anywhere with that in Manhattan (assuming that's where you'll want to spend most of your time). Divvy up your crowd into groups with leaders and make use of NYC's public transportation. I see that stuff daily with European tourists that come in groups of 20.

Probably. We'll just feed your corpse to the bums who live in the tunnels. That's what we usually do with tourists anyways.

be careful with subways. don't put wallets in your back pockets or you'll be pickpocketed.

when going to subway. i tend to get lost because there are so many subways to choose from. if you want to go north then look for subways that go uptown. going down? then take one's that go downtown.

again, if you want to take subways after midnight, i don't think you'll find any luck. if you see subway sign with white circle that means subways operate 24/7 but it go from white circle to next white circle. you'll probably miss the place you want to go.

visit Brookland and the Branx while you're there. goto the branx zoo, conehead island boardwalk and aquarium, empirical statue building if u want to look at touristy stuff.
